It had a quirky lil entrance that I loved. Location was excellent in the high village. No parking which is a shame but understandable. The room had an unbelievable view from the balcony! So amazing! No aircon unfortunately and there was mosquitos. A great hotel.

Great location and amazing view

Delighted to get a room at short notice in this beautiful old town.  What a great start to our 2 week  trip.  Busy lady showed us to our room.  Perfectly clean and delightful. The view was wonderful esp in the morning when hundreds of swifts darted around the blue sky looking for breakfast!  Ours was a more released affair! Lovely! 

Biker's Trip 

The hotel is right in the center of the medieval town.  If you can snag a room with a view across the river that runs below, since the hotel is at the edge of the town, you will be rewarded with a great view across the valley.  Other rooms seem to face the street, but the town is a pedestrian zone and cars are few--only allowed for access to properties in the town.  Just no view on that side.  The room was basic but did have a balcony.  Had there been a bedspread that matched the decor of the furnishings, it would have been fine. But the spread was just an ugly piece of striped cotton.  The place was clean.  The personnel do not seem happy--kind of down trodden seeming and while not UNpleasant, they were not particularly pleasant either--it isn't that there was a bad attitude, it just was not a welcoming attitude.  That said, the hotel is so convenient and the views so lovely that really none of that matters. The personnel spoke French but no English.  You can park in their garage on site for an extra ten Euro/day, which I am glad we did as it rained while we were there and walking to the out-of-medieval city public parking, the alternative, would have been tough even though it is just 1Km away!  Streets are all cobblestone, and no fun to roll a suitcase on!

In medieval city, fabulous views

The village of Ainsa and the surrounding area is highly recommended and the veiw from the balconies as decribed by others was fantastic.  The room was adequate and facilities were basic but ideal for what we needed.  We were on a bike trip and we used the underground car park and that was huge bonus.  I think the hotel is being run by a friend as the person we saw on site didnt stay there and we had to wait 30 minutes to book in whilst the one woman band who did everything walked down from the pizza restaurant.   She was quite pleasant but seemed to be struggling herself.  We had breakfast but the area was closed when we arrived and the lady appeared with some food in bags 15 minutes later.  So it was all very quirky but actually, i liked the place, the view and the village.  We ate in a restaurant around the corner and the meal was fantastic.  So I would go back

Some good  - some bad

We stayed in Villa Romanica for 2 nights, we liked the location but it's far from parking. When we inquired about the price for the second night (firstly we planned to stay there only for one one night) the owner agreed the price with us and then we were asked to pay a higher price by his wife the second day. The room wasn't clean (the owner are elderly and that is why I didn't make any issues about it) but in my opinion you should take care of your guests a little bit more and be more honest and straightforward with them. Won't be coming back I'm afraid.

Nice location, bad service

Even so Ainsa is one of the most beautiful places we have seen on our trip from France to Bilbao, I still suffer from bites of bed bugs. It is such a pity, that this still can happen.We were very happy to find a room in the old centre and we didn't expect anything like that. So, all of yo out there: be aware! 

Bedbugs

Room was ok, owner was unfriendly and did not want to be there, staff did not have a clue how to make sure the breakfast was good.  Aircon did not work in our room we think the whole system had been switched off.  Lots of eating places and various shops selling local produce, wines, cheese, bread etc. 

Ainsa itself was a very pretty quaint old town on the top of a hill.  There was an old city wall which you could walk around, museum, and walks around the village.  Lots of photo opportunities to take in the buildings and surrounding views from the top of the city walls.
