Location location location! Astounding town above a gorge in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The hotel has old beds and stiff pillows but is otherwise like no other. The whole place has a medieval feel. The staff were very helpful. The pool is the best we’ve come across in all of Spain. A beautiful experience.

It’s all about the view.

Had a great room with balcony and a panoramic view.   Old town ambiance was very relaxing and location in town center very convenient to restaurants, shopping, and canyoning.   Lots of stairs, but there is an elevator, except no access to it at the front desk.

Good room and a lovely pool. Quiet and comfortable. Excellent value. Tricky to locate and one of the staff was a bit unfriendly - seemed insulted that I could not understand her French directions. Other staff were friendly. Good breakfast.

No todas las habitaciones tienen  Desayuno razonable.  El personal del departamento de recepción es acogedor y servicial.  Hotel recomendado!!

We stayed at Villa Alcazar, an excellent hotel!  I recommend a premium room with a balcony and a view of the fortress.  Make sure there is a fridge in the room.  Not all rooms have! reasonable breakfast.  The reception department staff are welcoming and helpful.  Recommended hotel!!

Good hotel!!

Arriving in villa alquezar was difficult due to road works. Receptionist was very helpfull. 
Airco did not work. Owner found this not a problem: you can sleep with open window!!! The noise of clock tower was not her problel, but mine!!!!!!
Mini bar also not functioning although four times asked for repair!!!!
Location of the hotel is ok but managers are bad!
Never again.

Not happy in villa alquezar

The hotel is right in the centre of this beautiful, medieval town. Rooms are attractive and the staff are very pleasant. The highlight is breakfast - fresh fruit, yoghurt, honey, jams, cheese, cold meat, a variety of delicious cakes, fresh orange juice and coffee, all presided over by a charming restaurant manager.

Great location and delicious breakfasts

Travelling from France we made a last minute stop at Alquézar. There was only the best room available but how glad we were retrospectively. The views are lovely, the hotel is super in an understated Spanish way, the staff from the gentleman serving breakfast (delicious and plentiful) to the ladies on reception were delightful, helpful and friendly.  The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the single use plastic cups wrapped in plastic in the bathrooms and the plastic wrapper on the loo seat. We must move on from that sort of nonsense and go plastic free. Apart from that, a lovely stay. 

An impromptu but pleasurable stop

Alquezar is a small village, it is not difficult to find the hotel, but we were wrong in the first place to find the hotel parking which is at the back side of the hotel. We had a do a complete drive through the narrow streets of the village to enter again. We were given a superior room, which was not the booking we had, but nobody noticed, neither us. The room was very nice, spacious and with a great balcony overlooking the village and into the whole area, just perfect. The hotel itself has no restaurant, but there are enough throughout Alquezar. The breakfast was served with all food prepared readily prepared on the table. All was very fresh, and enough. They have wonderful swimming pool, unfortunately beginning of October is not the best time to use it. 
We enjoyed our stay very much. When checking outn we had some dispute about our invoice, as it was not according our reservation. When we showed our reservation, they were very surprised but accepted it without any discussion. This is fully acceptable ... no complains. Yes we would stay again, booking the superior room now directly.

Nice hotel. Nicely decorated in spanish style. The swimming pool is a huge plus.
Staff is accomodating via email (had to rebook because of family circumstances).
They do not serve lunch or dinner, but Alquezar had good restaurants.

Good hotel

Found this place via a TripAdvisor. Reviews don't do it justice. magnificent traditional Moorish village with spectacular views over gorges and castle remains. The silence except for the sound of birds and church bell is soul reviving. The hotel is placed well to take advantage of the views we opted for a superior room with gorge view - simple immaculately clean wonderful pool area but we did not get to take advantage as we were only here for one night - excellent breakfast included in tariff and a great nights sleep due to the lack of traffic. Would highly recommend a visit here - especially if into walking and adventure activities.
