I didn't get a chance to sleep there just for a fabulous dinner, everything tastes good, the kitchen is like the real setting, you can go there with your eyes closed, so it's a safe place to avoid when the temperatures are cold.

Juan and layla are the most friendly and lovely hosts you could ever wish to meet. This place is a real gem. Forget the rat race and just relax in idyllic surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. We will definitely be going back . Beautiful old world charm .Thank you guys 😁

Leila was super friendly, lent us dishes to eat our own food. A wonderful welcome. Very old house full of charm. Very comfortable mattresses and pillows. I highly recommend this place if you want to sleep in the historic city of Betancuria.

what a place, it simply took our breath away, the rooms are stunning with a private pool, bar and quirky vintage rooms. We stopped over as we was dining at the gorgeous santa maria Michelin star restaurant... the owner of the rooms Juan was just the nicest guy nothing was too much trouble... very romantic place if you want to impress the wife!

Absolutely idyllic

We stayed here for two nights, and had the best sleeps of the entire holiday wondering around both Fuerteventura and Lanzarote! The rooms are all quirky, as are the common areas, either the open courtyard, or the 2/3 rooms, be they a dining room, a music room or a charming old fashioned bar. Laila and Juan are consummate hosts, discreet but helpful. It is a very laid back small inn, so do not expect anything like you would get in any of the coastal resorts. Yes... the hotel offers a limited dinner menu, and as it is the only place in the whole village that stays open after 5, you either go for it, or eat a big lunch! There is good WiFi cover, and a lovely plunge pool to relax by. We both enjoyed it thoroughly, and if you like getting off the beaten track, then you will too. 

Out of the Ordinary... 

We stayed here for six nights and it was very good, and when it came to food, I would go somewhere else.

A quiet and characteristic place to sleep.

My husband and I stopped at this inn for a snack at lunch during our visit to Betancuria. We ordered two cold plates, so that we didn't have to wait too long for our food to be cooked. The result: one hour of waiting for two plates with some slices of cheese, sausages (chicken and ham) and salad (of bad taste). All served with fly noodles that lay on the food and bread while we were scrambling to send them away and that made us strongly doubt the cleanliness of the environment.

Absolutely to Avoid

The Casa Princess Arminda is located directly above the main square in Betancuria. Location is amazing! The owner was born in the original house and after many years abroad has returned to his hometown and created an amazing boutique hotel. We stayed for 2 evenings and we felt so comfortable here. The room was super cozy and unbelievably quiet! The last sound you will hear is the church bell ring at 10pm and then no sound until a single bell at 7:30am. We stayed in November and the evenings can feel cool, the room had several blankets to keep us warm. Our hosts made us feel incredibly comfortable in the space. Breakfast can be served in the beautiful courtyard or in a small diningroom depending on weather. They also have a menu for dinner (we ate at hotel both nights and food was delicious). It turns out that the owner lived in our hometown in Canada for 20 years so we had an instant bond and an unforgettable experience.

Home away from home

Phenomenally helpful & friendly host, Juan Dumpierrez. Not only did he find our friends an extra room in Betancuria when his Casa was full, but he also travelled to & arranged lodging for all 4 of us in the preceding town on our hike across Fuerteventura. Way way over & above what we might have expected from an inn proprietor.  All done via promptly answered emails & phone calls.  His English was good, as he lived 29yrs in Toronto he told us.
Once here we found our room & the Casa’s main rooms (2 bars & 2 dining areas) clean & functioning, full of fascinating historical curios & all had considerable charm,  The whole Casa complex is in a restored 14th century building in tune with & in the centre of the historical old capital, Betancuria.
Nothing was too much trouble for Juan & his colleagues.  They served us drinks & food all evening. The menu was hearty, Canarian & tasty.  It was particularly excellent that they served food in the evening (to residents) as all of Betamcuria’s restaurants & cafes close at 6pm because the majority of the visitors to the village only come in daytime.
All in all the perfect stop in rural central Fuerteventura.

Walking holiday

In the beautiful village of Betancuria there is an address to remember: the Casa Princess Arminda, an old stone building in which a few rooms have been arranged, around a pleasant patio. A small terrace with swimming pool is available, which we could not enjoy in November but which must be very pleasant during the high heat. It is the only place to sleep in Betancuria, which allows us to enjoy the village quietly when all the tourist buses have left!
