We were at Casa Domenc for 6 days of wonderful adventure. My husband is an avid fly fisherman. We travel yearly to Belize through Slipstream outfitter out of Canada and when they offered a trip to fishing in the Pyrenees. Richard French’s group put together a fantastic all inclusive experience that included staying at Casa Domenc. The room was apparently updated with a queen size bed. Large bath sheets and other towels readily available. The best was a fluffy robe to put on after a relaxing shower under a rain flow shower head. The bathroom was accessible for the disabled with both ceiling shower head and handheld. Hair shampoo, body wash and body milk was available. There was a bottle of red wine waiting and a stocked minibar with sodas, water, and white wine available. A coffee center with coffee maker and hot water maker available for tea.  A small balcony gave the option to enjoy the outdoors. A short walk through the quaint town to the Bar Restaurant with Juan Antonio, the owner, as host for fabulous dinners and breakfasts. Juan Antonio was attentive to every need with great wines and regional foods.

Aren was a bit out our way - we were planning some kayaking, hiking and paragliding near Ager.  But it was worth the sheep

Antonio was so warm and welcoming. The perfect host! The apartment spotless, equipped with all the basic necessities, and fully functioning air conditioning.

His restaurant - right nearby - was perfect for dinner and breakfast. home style food, generous portions, friendly waitress. 

Note that the WiFi wasn’t great and the place is not for people with trouble navigating stairs

Worth going to Aren for

Photos from the website might not seem too appealing but it was an absolute experience to stay in Casa Domenc. From our arrival, room was beautiful, clean, terrace was lovely. Every single detail that you needed was there (coffee machine, a bottle of wine as a welcoming, AC, good bed and fantastic shower). Moreover, we went to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and it was amazing!! Truly! And I need to say that I have not seen a dedicated, kind, helpful and educated person as the owner. I would 100% stay here again.

We stayed here during a recent fishing trip, and I cannot say enough good things about our visit.  We had a simple room, with a stocked refrigerator and espresso machine and a very comfortable bed.  Meals were served in the restaurant down the street, and they were excellent.  An unexpected delight for such a small town.  

Juan Antonio, the owner, told us the first day that we wanted us to feel at home during our stay, and he went out of his way to ensure it.  Thank you!  This was our first trip to Spain, but it won't be our last.

Wonderful stay!

We arrived with a group for a week of fly fishing in the Eastern Pyrenees.  Aren is a quaint town and a great jumping off point for the area. 

The Casa Domenc owner and Innkeeper is one of the nicest, most customer oriented people I have ever met. We had an apartment in the hotel which had all the amenities  required. I took advantage of the spa.  The hotel was great accommodation for the fishermen and for the weekend hunters, but it very nice for those guys-- this is a good place if you are the non-fishing/hunting spouse. Restaurant was in the square. It was awesome- hoping to do a separate review.

Great jumping off point for Eastern Pyrenees 

Wonderful experience. Simple but exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. Fantastic food in the restaurant and very fun bar with nice drinks downstairs in village square. Owner was super friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to visit again.
