Really nothing to complain about. The best thing about the place is the amazing patio. But I'm missing the Camino spirit, there's not really a common feeling existing, which really to me is the most important thing on the Camino.

Wonderful patio.

Arrived on a cold evening in June as we walked the camino. Chose to stay here as it was advertised online they had a kitchen.  When we arrived we saw it said the kitchen was 2 Euro per person to use and it seemed they were not happy for us to use it. When we pressed that we had brought food and needed to cook it, we were told they were using it to cook the community meal. After further pressing we told it would be available after 8pm. This made our stay 15 Euros per person.  For what we got it was no different to staying in a municipal albergue.  We waited till 8pm and used the kitchen but all the time we were cooking the manager just stood there and watched everything we did making us feel most uncomfortable.  We would have liked to cook our breakfast the next morning, but didn't want to go through this procedure again.  Reflecting on it later, we realised it would have been better if we had stayed in the cheaper municipal albergue. There was no real sense of community here and it seemed everyone had their "community meal" and then went to bed!
Otherwise the accommodation was comfortable, but you had to go out into the cold to get to the bathroom and there was a freezing cold breeze coming in the open front door until it was closed later on.

Disappointed in quality of service

This albergue is a superb accommodation, both if you are a pilgrim or a simple tourist. In the shady internal patio you can find ease from the summer hot and have a chat with the other guests sipping a fresh drinks. Rooms and dorms are wide and clean, and you can find books and table games in the common spaces. Definitely a great place to stay outside Astorga along the Camino.

Great place to stay along the Camino

We stayed in one of their private rooms here during our Camino. There were 3 of us and the room was perfect for our stay. It had its own bathroom and we had no problem with hot water. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. This was one of the nicest place we stayed in during our Camino. The courtyard is a great place to relax and the vegetarian food we had for dinner was delicious. They also serve an excellent breakfast, with homemade yogurt. The location is also great, it's right in the Camino and so easy to just start walking the next day.

Just to add something on top of the rest of reviews, which are quite accurate, I'd like to really highlight the vegetarian dinner, which was truly fantastic. Besides, the place seems to call people with similar interest, so it is very likely that you will meet again past Camino mates 😊
