This hostel / flat is very cheap compare to other hotels for this area. 
Bathrooms are not so clean and walls are extremely thin and you can hear all conversation from everywhere. 
Bedrooms are very simple , with fresh towels and OK beds. 
For 40 euros for 2 people in central Barcelona I don’t think you will find something better.  

You pay what you get!!

My awful experiences with the hostels of Barca have not taken a break it seems. After experiencing hell at 2 hostels, I was pleased with a better facility at one but on my next trip, I bite the dust again with this one. The maintenance is bad. The location is in the interiors which ate up my precious time in finding the hotel.

Bad experience

This hostel was one of the cheapest if you want a private room with a double bed. It is situated in a good area not too far from the city centre, approximately 10 minutes walk to place de Catalunya. It has a shared balcony with a view over a schoolyard, quite big balcony and we were kinda lucky that the neighbors didn't use it. That was the good part.....

The bed was terrible, it was hard and you could feel the iron in your back. You couldn't lock the bathroom. The shower was not very clean, the shower drain was clogged and you had to stop showering after 5 minutes. The shower head was broken so you needed to keep it in your hands. The lock of the gents toilet was really difficult to use, so it was kinda uncomfortable if you were not sure if it locked or not. The hostel was also very noisy and you could hear everything from the neighbors. 

The staff couldn't speak proper English, but she was nice to us. We would not come here again.

Cheap and unhygienic hostel

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. Apparently the lady what was supposed to be at reception was not in at the time, so a very rude woman let me in. They had forgotten the towels but she said she couldn't give me any. The shower was so disgusting I decided to stay dirty. The room was incredibly loud, on a main road and the window to the balcony didn't close tight. The wall are thin and the common areas are gross. Avoid this one at all costs.
