We stayed 2 nights at El Guindas and, although the weather was a balmy 27 degrees, the cave stays perfectly cool and comfortable. The caves have a quirky beauty with everything handmade to fit the natural contours. We were visiting friends nearby but it is a great location if you are visiting the Geopark or walking/cycling/driving in the sierras. We were about an hour and a half drive from Granada and coupled it with a visit to the Alhambra and a flamenco show. Owners Jane and Amar speak French, English and Spanish between them and, although we ate at the neighbouring Al Jatib for dinner both nights, are in the throws of opening their own restaurant on site.

cool couple of days of absolute peace

We stayed from 20.1.-29.1.22 to ride the motorcycle.parking directly in front of the cave.I liked the chimney and there was always enough quality firewood.the cave is secluded enough but also close to baza with its infrastructure.jane and aram were always helpful with information and solving problems.the big cave is ideal for 3 single people or two couples.for wintertime I recommend an extra electric heater for the bath.

Becoming a caveman

Staying in a cave house experience was amazing, we couldn’t have choose a better cave to stay in. The cave itself was beautiful, the host was such a proud, happy, cheerful man. Peace & Tranquility is exactly what we wanted and enjoyed.

Honeymoon trip

The caves are quite basic inside with dreadful wifi....only get it by the front door. But everything is there that you need. A woodburner to take the chill off at night. We had a very nice long weekend. Will return in the summertime next time.

nice place to spend a couple days

This is not really a hotel. It is a B&B place, only without the second B as it does not serve breakfast... What you get is a well-furnished and air-conditioned suite, all built in a cave (a real cave). It comprises of a bedroom with a large comfortable bed, a small living room with a TV and a fireplace (for winter times), a kitchenette with all the necessary equipment (including an espresso machine with a variety of capsules) - and a bathroom with a shower (not a tub). There is Wifi in the place too; however, it only functions near the entrance - and not in the bedroom. Outside there is a lawn with a small 'swimming' pool and a barbequing facility. Everything seems to have been made by the owner, a cheerful man who owns several similar units and claims to have been living in such a cave, not too far from 'ours,' for the past 20 odd years. BTW, the unit does not have air conditioning, as the owner says it does not need one given that the temperature in the cave is always the same...
I can say nothing about the service, as we only saw the owner upon our arrival. The next morning we left too early for him to show up...

This is a funny place to stay in - but if you are in the area anyway, it is worth it...

 rBeautiful experience here - the caves are amazing and the owner is very ,kind ,helpful and great fun ! Will Definately stay here again next year and will stay longer . Plenty of places to explore walking and the town of Baza has everything you could possibly want .

Amazing and awesome!

We stayed in the two bedroomed cave to break a long road trip up travelling back to Alicante airport. We were met by Pepe the owner – who was lovely and keen to show us around (which we managed despite our respective lack of Spanish and English) We were welcomed with a fantastic huge log burner – already lit to warm the property through, with a ready supply of wood to keep us going. The accommodation was spotless -, with clean towels and toiletries provided. A well stocked kitchen with cooking utensils and store cupboard items e.g. salt oil vinegar tea, coffee sugar and a bottle of water. WIFI also provided but only really worked toward the entrance of the property. 
There is a large BBQ area and a swimming pool (too cold) and seating area including table, chairs and picnic bench. Fabulous stay – would recommend for something different at a very reasonable price

Unique experience

The cave was excellent with all facilities you needed particularly in early May with log fire for the cool evenings. Pepe looked after us all making sure we had the basics in our caves e.g. firewood etc.

The art holiday was fantastic with Clive who was one of our hosts and a great tour guide, Allan provided fantastic food and Bev is a great art teacher. Would recommend to anyone. It feels like you are miles away from anything in the countryside but Baza is a short 10 minute ride away. The scenery in this area is beautiful and very inspiring for any artists out there.

Stayed for one night in one of these amazing cave houses. Didn’t know what to expect but we were enchanted. 
A beautiful spot, gorgeous and unique accommodation and super host. 
The interior was spacious and have everything we needed. 
A wonderfully comfortable bed.  So quiet and comfortable.
A delicious breakfast 
Can’t say enough good things.
