I stayed for one night and consider this to be an excellent budget hotel. Delightful owners. Spotlessly clean. Great aircon in room. Small fridge too with bottle of cold water also provided. Surprisingly quiet. It exceeded  my expectations.

I was looking for a place at the end of the day and after a less than positive reception at another place in Baza (they did not want to give me the Booking.com rate. Their rate was higher. The desk clerk shrugged his shoulders!), I walked into Hostel Venta del Sol and was met by the smiling, friendly face of Alicia, 1/2 of the couple that has this hostel. Which side of the hotel did I want a room on? If I needed more towels, just let them know. What else might I need? She was chatty, kind and welcoming. Perfect! He husband fixed a lovely salad later in the evening and I had a sip of the local cava with them to celebrate their wedding anniversary. The room, was simple, clean and comfortable. This is what we all hope for when we travel.

A gem in Baza!

We stayed here one night while driving from the Costa Blanca to Costa del Sol. We knew it was basic but it exceeded our expectations. 

Our room was really clean and simply furnished with a comfortable bed on which we had a really good night's sleep. It has air con and a fridge ( if like us you are travelling with supplies!) The shower is really powerful and hot! Shampoo and shower gel are provided.

It is true that you will probably need a title Spanish but I managed with limited Spanish and the limited English of the lovely woman on the desk to both understand and be understood- but a phrase book is always handy to have anyway!

There is a bar/ restaurant but our stay fell during the 2 week vacation closure, so we had to venture out for dinner, which of course done the Spanish way does not begin until at least 8pm!

Couldn't fault this for cleanliness, comfort and value for money. It isn't just 5 star places that deserve good scores!

Wonderful value stop over

Very clean , very Spanish , very good value . Great staff , will return  Ideal for supermarkets ,bars & restaurants , be aware nobody in Baza speaks English , why should they ,so a little Spanish will go a long way

Everything you need for a stop over

Booked for three nights whilst exploring the Baza area. Warm greeting on arrival, room upgaded to number 21, with bedroom,bathroom,kitchen and lounge. Cleanliness everywhere was first class and all the staff were friendly and approachable. Good location close to motorway and town centre. Traditional Spanish food in the restaurant excellent, other restaurants nearby but found no reason to try them. Meals can be taken either in the restaurant or on the terrace. Amazing value for money, would definitely stay again.

Clean, friendly, excellent value for money.

We only stayed for one night on our way to Portugal and it was fine for that, room fairly basic with quite uncomfortable beds but a good bar downstairs which was really busy but it was a Saturday. Weather was bad so didn't explore any further.

Stopover

Very nice proprietor, clean room and bathroom. Bed was very small for two people and mattress very hard. Walls were thin, so rather a noisy hotel. Had to wait until after 8 pm for dinner (which was very nice). The Spanish siesta has been mystifying to us Aussies. Couldn't understand the breakfast menu and nobody spoke enough English to translate, so we drove to the nearest McDonalds. Very cheap, but OK.
