Been here before and enjoyed the peacefulness of the site and surrounding area. So booked up for this Christmas and New Year. 
However, there is building work going on next door from 08:00 to 17:00 hrs and it ruins the peacefulness. Despite booking months ago the site has not informed us of this.now for the last two days we have site maintenance digging up the road in-front of our pitch. Jackhammers going for hours each day. The worst being the the attitude at reception. They just don’t give a damn. 
So stay away from this place.

So noisy

Arrived on Sunday to this really nice, clean, friendly site and parked up on our very spacious pitch, so you are asking why the one star    well we had phoned the day previously and booked in not one comment from the staff that there would be a fiesta taking place in the field next to the site for the next week and it could be noisy, now you may think this is trivial but after the funfair slows down at 1am then the rave continued till 3am when rock bands stole the show, well its got to end soon I thought but no. . One minute past six the dj finally came off stage. After a couple of hours sleep I politely confronted the young receptionist, it was apparent she had taken a mass of flack for the noise so very nicely asked her if it would be the same tonight to which she replied... yes all week... check please we are outta here.. please staff inform the customer, not just take our money. As for the campsite go there it's lovely  BUT CHECK FIRST!!!!!

Great site.... but!

Bonterra Resort

This was our second time here as we were impressed the first time. It is still probably the best camp site we have stayed on, or looked at ( some in Spain are just rows and rows of motor homes really close to each other under canopies). Each pitch where we were (B) was surrounded by a decent size hedge and trees overhead which not only attractive, helped keep the pitch cool.

The facilities here are excellent. The shower/ toilet blocks are spotless but you have to know the cleaning schedule as it seems cleaning takes place just as everyone is getting up and wanting a shower. That said, there are plenty of shower blocks and if one is closed for cleaning there is another only a few yards away. The laundry is a good size and while we were there is €4 for a token from the machine in reception and also €4 for a dryer. The machine takes coins and €10 or €5 notes.

The restaurant does food which is OK and generous in portions with the menu del dia under £20.

We didn’t use the pool area which was undergoing renovation but the smaller pool was operational and there were sun loungers but the beach is less than a 10 minute walk away, so that is where we went.

All in all, a comfortable stay. Both times we have stayed here in May, we have been unexpectedly hit by really high wind at night on a couple of occasions, so be aware if you have an awning that a wise move would be to strap it down with ratchet straps. Friends of ours lost theirs a few years ago! Most people on pitches are in those huge motor homes or caravans; we were in our camper van with an awning. We suspect the resort has a micro climate which may account for the unexpectedly high wind, our weather App said wind of 8mph , more like 20 or higher.

If you choose to stay here, you will have a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

A lovely site

Lovely site, very friendly. Close to supermarket and town centre. Ideal holiday location. Our stay was spoiled by a price hike from €28 for the Monday & Tuesday, €56 for the Wednesday then a further hike to €64 for the Thursday. We were told that this was because it as a “Festival weekend”. The price hike was well before the weekend Avenue started. We won’t be returning. 😡

Price hike 

Very well run and professional. Good size pitches and very clean and well maintained services. Opposite the main gates was a large well stocked Mercadona supermarket which we found very useful. The beach is about a 20 minute walk from the site and has a lovely promenade with historic beach front houses. There are also beach cafes to fortify an evening stroll

Great location

Slick professional site with a very responsive reception team.  Superb showering facilities. Lovely swimming pool.  Pitches adequate but need to tread with care as pea shingle slippy near sloping kerb. Mercadona supermarket just over the road excellent and prices low compared with UK. Located close to lovely beach  with wide promenade. Great safe cycling from the site.
We visited in September when the local fiesta took place which lasted 10 days - a bit noisy but this didn’t bother us.
At Bonterra we encountered a lot of long stay UK visitors who know each other and congregate in groups chatting, laughing,  drinking and generally having a good time into the evening. It is difficult to keep a low profile with a UK number plate as they are very friendly to fellow citizens abroad.  If this is not your style, perhaps take your time selecting your pitch.

Excellent coastal campsite

This was our first camping experience in Spain having camped only in the UK. This outshone any campsite we have ever been to, and we have been on some good ones. Its super clean and tidy with regular cleaning of toilet/ shower blocks and general tidying of the grounds. Launderette and  driers with irons available from reception. Excellent water pressure in the showers 😃.Staff very friendly and helpful. Also The WIFI is better than found in some rental apartments we have been in, good enough to stream TV and Netflix. You pay for WiFi €12 for the week, but only one device at a time, so we bought one each.

Pitches are surrounded by hedges so you get a fair bit of privacy and unlike other Spanish sites we have seen it doesn’t have the oppressive looking canopies but does have trees providing some shade. We were here in May and it was unseasonably hot ( 29+ most days) so I get why sites use canopies.

Its less than 10 minute walk to the stunning beach and there is a Mercadona supermarket opposite which does really good hot take away food ( chicken, pizza etc), and Lidl and Burger King just up the road. 

Our experience in the on site restaurant was shockingly bad, so much so we refused to eat there again. I have never had fish that you have to saw through it was so over cooked and my husband’s chicken stuffed with ham and cheese, he couldn’t cut through and when he did open it up, any cheese that might have been in there had dried to nothing. We may have got it on a bad night, but it put us right off. We opted for Burger King, Mercadona and Red Burger bar about a 15 min walk into town.

The bar was fine and we often went there for a beer overlooking the pool which has plenty of loungers available, although the beach was so nice, and often a bit cooler, we went pretty much every day.

We were only here a week so didn’t get to try local restaurants, most of whom don’t open until 8pm or later, but there are some promising looking ones in town. 

I was all set to give a 5 rating as a campsite, but our dining experience has led me only give a 4. Despite everything I have written we like Benicassim and this resort and would definitely come back.

Very Impressive

Had paella maurisco at restaurant last night. Fantastic.  
Would reccomend this as a meal. Would have been nice to have had more gamba on top but that is a minor criticism. 
It was served as a traditional paella should be. Lots of crispy rice on bottom of pan that had to be scraped off. 
Service has been a bit iffy but it has improved and was great last night. 
No complaints from all four of us who dined there.

Need  to sort out   bar staff  useless can't understand you 50 % british takes over 20 minutes to get served  then then  the bill is wrong and then takes another  30 minutes to sort it out by this time you have had to much and just  walk away useless

Bar  problem

We arrived at Bonterra Park one week ago. My wife was very nervous about coming away bu from the moment we checked in we knew the site was doing its utmost to keep people safe.
Life is not without risk but it's about managing them. 
I done a dynamic risk assessment for 2 weeks prior to leaving uk. The result was it would be safer here than holidaying in the uk.
The wife has stated that she is so glad she didn't stay home. You have to be here to realise it.
The amenity blocks are cleaned every couple of hours at most, we are looking at one block so know.
It's a deep clean not a flit over. 
Our pitch neighbour's left Saturday and the whole plot was sprayed with disinfectant. 
When in public spaces masks must be worn, even going to toilets.  It is relaxed if exercising or cycling. It includes walking in streets, shopping etc.
We haven't used the pool but you have to book your slot so it's not over populated.
We have been going to beach where there is stacks of room. Then done as locals do, mark a square in the sand around you so people do not encroach.  They stay out of it too. 
The only place we dont like is shopping in lidl. Like at home it's a fair. Probably give that place a miss in future.
If you are thinking of coming do so. You will be surprised at how much safer it is than holidaying at home.
