My father asked me to write this review on his behalf as he does not have Tripadvisor and he was so taken with Hotel San Glorio. Him and three of his friends were there for two nights recently, as a base to explore the Picos de Europa on a motorbike tour of Northern Spain. He is celiac and told me that the staff were so accommodating of his dietary requirements, that he thinks that this is the best dining experience that he has had as a celiac to date. He said that the staff were so lovely and welcoming, the food was delicious (in particular the wild game) and his travel companions thought the same. Their rooms were really clean and comfortable too. He would highly recommend staying in Hotel San Glorio as a base to explore the Picos de Europa.

Hotel San Glorio stay

We stayed here for a night and everything was good. We took 2 of our dogs and they could stay with us in the bedroom; the breakfast as ok and the staff was very helpful. Will definitely go back some time soon.

Dogs are welcomed

The best thing about this hotel is that if offers free Wi-Fi. Very useful especially considering that in 15km radius there is no mobile coverage at all. 
The TV that we had in the room would not turn on and there was no heating (max 25 degrees), so it was a bit cold during the night. 
Breakfast was OK, although very limited in variety. 
It says that it includes free parking and that is true. However, we had some problems parking the car in front of the hotel because there were too many cars and few slots available (I would say 8 max), so we had to park in front of some neighbours' houses.  

Overall, I would have expected a bit more from this hotel if I take the price into account, but since there is no other accommodation around, there are few choices to pick from.

Life saviour Wi-Fi

Stayed one night on a road trip through the Picos. We were the only guests and the weather was very poor (snow overnight) but the lady running the hotel was a gem. She loaded up the huge open fire next to the bar and we were served drinks and later dinner in the restaurant. Apart from a handful of locals drinking the weather kept everyone else at bay!

The food was gamey and filling. Breakfast was a little ordinary but OK.

Our room could do with some modernisation and decoration but was clean and warm.

Warm welcome

We stayed here for one night before doing the (very recommendable) hike to Pena Prieta from the Puerta de San Glorio mountain pass, which is only a few minutes drive away. This is a remote area with not much choice of accomodation, and the hotel kind of dominates the small village. Staff spoke very little English, but were very friendly. The room was large enough and sufficient for our needs - nothing overly modern. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant was very good. Breakfast is rather basic, though they served an excellent home-made cake.
