Really excellent hotel, all the small touches made it special such as a jar of sweets in the entrance, fridge in room also kettle and selection of coffees, teas and milk.  The rooms are spacious and so well furnished as was our terrace with a wonderful sea view.   Breakfast was excellent with so much choice.

Excellent hotel in wonderful location.

Stayed a night here in one of the best rooms for the view with a great balcony, room name is Casa Chica. Slightly dated but didn’t detract from our pleasant experience. As it happened we had a rain storm late pm which was nice to look at from the room with the sea as a backdrop.
Great breakfast plenty of fruit, nice coffee and orange juice. 
Staff very friendly.
Plenty of free parking on the wasteland near the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Location

The owners of Chiringuito Las Tarahis also have this 10 bedroom hotel on the other side of the riverbed to the main part of town, so it´s lovely and quiet.

Check in is before lunch (12-2) which is better for us.

We stayed in Room AguaAmarga with a superking bed, sea view and terrace - very good value for €75 including a covid compliant breakfast (i.e. everyone was served the same, and had their own table for the duration of their stay).

Would happily stay again.

Great little hotel on the beach

We had a slightly difficult arrival, narrow tight entrance with car and the owner was very anxious, understandably, about Covid.
She took our temperatures and was very keen for us to follow protocols. For example we couldn’t move our breakfast table out of the sun, but we overcame these irritations, found parking easy and enjoyed our stay. A potential downside is there is no reception at night so if you lost your key there could be a problem.The management do not speak English.
The room was comfortable, well cleaned, the breakfast very good and I would stay there again.

Very nice, slight communication problems

We spent 2 nights at this wonderful hotel.  It is almost on the beach and is a very traditional building.  Our room was very comfortable with good closet space and an excellent bathroom.  We ate breakfast and dinners there and the food was truly excellent, possibly the best we had during 2 weeks in the area.  The staff was very friendly and helpful.  Loved it there.

Wonderful hotel, excellent food and service

We spent a glorious 2 days here, February and clear blue skies and hot sun, just perfect. This is a delightful hotel with lovely views right on the beach. Lovely breakfast and large room with a huge bed! Even our small dog was happy here and he often finds it hard in hotels, but not this one. Highly recommend it.

A lovely small hotel full of character

First time in Spain & we have no spanish, but this hotel was friendly and made you feel welcome. The room was good & the sea view balcony was well worth paying the supplement for. For us the communication was a bit of a drawback at first & we might have got even more out of our stay if we had a smattering of spanish. That said, it was a lovely stay and breakfasts were a delight, lots of lovely things to eat and different highlights each day and the orange juice & coffee were fabulous. Scrupulously clean & the family who run it were helpful. Agua amarga is a lovely place, we felt so safe and welcomed both in the hotel and everywhere else in this genuinely pretty, happy, laid back village.

pleasant hotel, hospitable and informal & great breakfasts

Familiar Business where you feel à pleasant treatment, excellent housekeeping and one of a kind breakfast with a delicious house-made offer. They let us doing check in a couple hours before, it is always a good good manner to welcome anybody specially after a long road 700 km trip. On the beachfront our children really enjoyed the stay. Sure we will be back. 

Wedding weekend 

We chose this hotel based on the reviews on tripadvisor and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is simple but offers everything you need. A clean room with internet, a lovely breakfast buffet and a short walk to the beach and great restaurants. Make sure you try the restaurant attached to the hotel, it's great.

Simple and lovely

As this hotel only has 2 stars I was a little doubtful about booking it but as it had everything that we were looking for and super reviews I decided to go for it. And I didn't regret it. It is a small family run hotel with only 10 rooms and practically on the beach. We had a sea view room which was very spacious, a large bathroom and a huge terrace with swing bed, table and chairs and clothes dryer. Everything was spotless, bedding and towels changed frequently also tea and coffee facility. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the beautiful garden setting with candle light was very romantic. The breakfast was the best in Spain. You couldn't wish for more, freshly pressed orange juice, excellent quality cold cuts and various types of Iberian ham, different types of cheeses, fresh fruit galore and to top it all home made jams and cakes. Excellent Coffee and different types of tea served at the table. They also gave us sun umbrellas, chairs and towels for the beach at no extra charge. English is limited but we got by with the help of a translater app. and also had a lot of fun in the process.
The sand beach is a not overcrowded, mainly Spanish people, and every day it is cleaned and flattened and the water is very clear. There are also various restaurants directly at the beach with excellent food. If you want peace and quiet this is the ideal place to go. We loved it.
