Fantastic location, right next to the Ruta de Cares trail. No luxury, but Clean and very functional. Personal and very  flexible service. There’s no luxury. They also complemented our breakfast with some Serrano Ham free of charge as we are not very much into pastries. 
Also offered the hotel services for us to change after finishing the trail.

Best accommodation to do the Cares trail

Amazing place to visit, absolutely beautiful views.  I stayed at the hotel and it was by far the best located - literally views of the church.  The rooms are very luxurious and the hotel has parking.  Everything is available from the doorstep.  

Had dinner at the hotel and it was excellent - David provided great service and was very kind/ helpful.   

Definitely would return and it is a trip that will stay in my memory !

I get that I shouldn’t expect too much from a 2 star hotel but I’m struggling to see how it even meets those.
The positives - the people are lovely, as others have commented in multiple languages.  The proximity to the teleférico for the route up to the isolated town of Naranjo de Bulnes is perfect. The room was very well cleaned on our arrival and after the first night. And breakfast was reasonable.  The not so good aspects. We paid 95€ per night (2 nights) for a room with an extra bed (not a bigger room, just a child’s bed squeezed into a normal size room). There was no elevator. I had to drag a heavy case up two flights. There was no wifi in the bedroom not cellular coverage (OK the latter is not the fault of the hotel but beware if you’re thinking about uploading some of those great photos - not from your room). Towels were not changed after the first night. I can live with that but there was also no place to dry them in the bathroom. Damp towels were left on the toilet seat. There was no hairdryer in the room.  There were no plugs for the basin or bath.  There was free parking but for only 6 cars. I guess the hotel had perhaps 30 rooms. We parked on the street but given it’s the start of several walks parking can be a challenge. There is no sound insulation between bedrooms. We could even hear the adjacent guest turning out the light. The really annoying bit is we arrived with a case load of washing. The hotel was picked for its proximity to the teleférico AND because it said they offered a laundry service. When we arrived we were told on the nearest launderette in the next town along. They do not have a laundry service. If the price per night had been half the price (we booked in March ‘20) I’d be more generous with rating, but this fall short in so many areas to even be considered a hotel in my opinion.  OK if you need an overnight stay before starting a walk and you can get the room at 48€ as suggested by others.

Falling short in too many areas.

This is a wonderful place to stay with staff making you feel most welcome. Close to start of Cares gorge walk to Cain. Food great and very well priced. Walk is not too hard to do return journey in one day. 

Walking rest stop

This hotel is located very conveniently -- within walking distance to the funicular to Bulnes, and at the start of the Cares Gorge hike.  There is not much else in this little village, just a couple of restaurants (the restaurant right next to the hotel is very good!).  Parking is available in their own private lot.  

Our room was quite small and spartan, but had a certain charm.  The view from the window looked over the river at the mountain.  There was no AC or ability to control the temperature in the room, but it was comfortable enough in June.

Breakfast was simple, and consisted of toast, tomato puree, and packaged muffins.

In the heart of the Picos

We stayed 2 nights here... it’s not luxury, but it’s clean, practical and the staff are fantastic.
The very best thing is the location, it’s at the beginning of the Ruta de Cares Walk - one of the most scenic walks you will ever do!!!
The beer from the Cafe is very good, the food is fantastic and the breakfast (included free) is very filling and a range of things are offered.
For anyone doing the walk - I thoroughly recommend you stay here before and after.

Wonderful hotel

No frills, clean accommodation (room 101 was a bit let down on maintenance in the bathroom and no wifi, but we did ask to change to it for the double bed so may have given up the better room 107, which did have wifi).  There is a big communal sitting room   where I managed to hook up to the wifi.  The big bonus though is their private parking and being right at the start of the Cares Gorge walk.  The restaurant serves good, simple food and at very reasonable prices and the friendly owner keeps you entertained with his booming voice.  We only stayed 2 nights but felt really welcomed and looked after.  Do try the fabada!  Fresh juice for breakfast and great coffee (hooray).

Perfect location for Cares/Bulnes walks

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights to explore the hiking trails in Picos de Europa such as the famous Ruta del Cares. 
The location can't be more perfect: you're at the start of the Ruta del Cares trail so if you start early you can beat the crowds. 
The hotel caters for walkers, rooms are simple but clean (it's a bit Eighties but everything works and is maintained). The staff is excellent. Wether it's the owner or his staff, everybody tries to do all they can to make you feel at home. 
Breakfast is basic but good, the bar/restaurant in the evening downstairs serves a few dishes, again, not high cuisine but honest good food. 
After a long day's walk, it was always great to settle down for the evening with some food and a cold beer (or a bottle of wine for next to nothing). 
The hotel and staff enhanced our experience in the National Park and I would book the same place if I would come back to do some more hiking.

Highlight of the holiday

Simple and elegant walkers hotel close by the path to the gorge and the funicular to Bulnes.
Very reasonable out of season.

Simple but good food.

We had a baby goat attach herself to us every time we left the building. Interesting bonus...I think.

One night stop after Rugby in Bilbao

We stayed two nights in this hotel as we walked the Ruta del cares. Manolo the owner is a larger than life character who did everything possible to make our stay perfect. The lobby and lounge furnishings were reminiscent of an old mountaineers hotel, perhaps this is what it was. Our room faced the only road and the view of the mountains was amazing. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we went to sleep listening to the cares river. All the staff were so lovely and helpful.
