We stayed 3 nights at the Alqueria and we really loved it. We had an apartment with our own little patio. But we found it more relaxing to stay in the common areas, especially the terrace in the great garden with beautiful views on the landscape and the village of Adrian. It was peaceful there when we relaxed with a beer or a glass (or bottle) of their homemade wine. Don't expect a five star tourist hub, they are very ECO orientated and grow (partly) their own vegetables and grapes. The staff is not 100% professional, but they are young and very friendly, helpfull and relaxed. With the food is the same: not 100% five star level but very tasteful with a surprising fusión between Spanish, arabic and african cuisine. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable,the swimming pool was a great extra and  again : staff was very helpfull and friendly. When you go there you have to realize that you are not staying in an elite touristic Park but in an ECO surrounding, that is narrowly connected with the earth and history of Las Alpujarras. They built the Alqueria with different casas and patios against the hill as if it were a village.  Also that gave us a certain familiar or community- like feeling. So we enjoyed our stay very much, we liked their wine and their menu and felt welcome and connected to their ideas and how hard they practice them . So staff of Alqueria de Míriam, thank you very much. We will definitely be back some time.

A nice and relaxed stay, with our mind and body connected to la tierra de las Alpujarras

OK....We were the only residents on the night we stayed in June 2021. We were given a room which was smaller than a broom cupboard.  However, Martin tried his best to improve this situation by providing a fan for the room. Plainly, this is not his fault but poor management. The worst aspect is the food which is absolutely dreadful. It would be difficult to eat elsewhere when staying here as there is nothing close to the hotel. We had difficulty finding anything available and then realised that everything was from the freezer. In an attempt to eat something freshly cooked, my partner chose eggs with ham and potatoes. it was absolutely awful. I had the carrillera de cerdo which was obviously from the freezer with chips provided on the side. It was edible but only just. Breakfast consisted of 1 piece of toast with nothing else, my partner asked for oil, which was brought but no salt. My partner is Spanish and used to good food, which was just not available. When we arrived there was a group of around 4 or 5 people eating in the bar. It was a freshly cooked estufada, but this was not available to guests. Oh yes, the cheese starter was utterly tasteless served with a bright orange/red jam from a jar. I cannot believe that this is the same owners as the Alex Polizzi days as she could never applaud this place. I realise that she stayed in a large 4 bedded room with a kitchen area, which was very misleading but, presumably, the food would have been of a similar standard if it was under the same management. The toiletries are very poor, the pool is green, the shower ancient. I value old furniture and fittings but they must do the job...a mirror needs to provide reflection, otherwise it is decoration and an alternative to use for shaving should be provided. I would avoid at all costs.

I wish i could echo other happy people!

This is a very special place. It´s out of the way in the lesser visited part of the Alpujarras, but the surroundings are beautiful, the peace and quiet fantastic, and the walks in the area very much worthwhile. We stayed in standard double rooms that were  a bit crammed, but acceptable. The restaurant was very nice, though fairly basic and service a tad unprofesional. The hotel is set up to feel like a small village and this works really well. Think tables and chairs outside the rooms as if you are on the village square and a fantastic pool with sweeping views towards the Sierra Nevada. In summer it must be really nice to stay here.

Special place. Great value!

We are regular guests at the Alqueria (last time 18 months ago), who are always happy to find a friendly, quiet place for a time out. It is great to enjoy the winter sun when weather is bad in the Northern part of Europe.

Lovely place

Stopped for one night on a long journey, enjoyed the tranquillity and views. Great dinner and good, simple Spanish breakfast. A shame the pool was not open before 10am would have loved a morning swim.

Very peaceful

We stayed here 8 years ago arriving on foot after walking from Mecina. However we only arrived at about 6pm and then had to leave at 6am to catch a bus, so this time we stayed 2 nights. We did the walk again 27 hard kms up and down steep slopes and arrived at this wonderful oasis. Before even going to our room and cleaning up we had a large Gin and tonic each looking over the fabulous views from the garden terrace. Our room was away from the main building and tucked behind a small Chapel and it was so peaceful. 

Most of the food and some of the wine comes from the estate and we ate very well of the Table d'ote menu. We slept extremely well and had a wonderful lazy day reading, eating and enjoying the fabulous views. We had another gorgeous meal and next day, instead of an early morning bus , were picked up by a car which drove us back to Malaga. This is a very special place and even if you are not walking it would be a wonderful place to just relax and unwind.

Superb country retreat. Deap in the Alujarra region

OK - so I am biased as I have a house in a nearby village - but the Alqueria de Morayma is truly a jewel of the Alpujarra. A selection of traditional buildings make up the rooms and dining rooms of Alqueria de Morayma that are full of charm and Alpujarra authenticity. Each room is a unique take on a traditional Alpujarran house and the whole place is a built like a mini Alpujarra village - completely delightful and charming. 
A summer afternoon by the amazing swimming pool with spectacular views of the mountains and valleys, watching the sun move across the sky is simply one of the most blissful experiences imaginable - closely followed by having a drink on the terrace at sunset. 
Terrific staff, great food and traditional tapas.

My favourite place on the planet

The small hotel is full of charm with each room being individually different and lots of community space. The restaurant is perfect for the sides the hotel and the grounds are beautiful. The staff is very helpful and the food was delicious. 

Enjoyable small treasure

Beautiful it was the best 4 days pure bliss , lovely food , amazing tapas, all staff great our room was traditional lovely finishes just amazing , we visited this hotel for dinner 10 years ago , it doesn't dissapoint very laid back .

Superb

we are back from 2 days at the Alqueria. We stayed in a 3 bed room which had its own balcony and the best views you can imagine
The room was gorgeous, rustic and delightful.
The staff was very chilled and made us feel like at home.
The food was the typical regional food. I am Spanish, and found everything just as my my would have cooked it! 
Its a wonderful, peaceful place!
