250 miles from our last stop (Logrono), arriving at around 4pm. Easy parking in its own car park.  One of the 2 staff spoke reasonable English at the bar/reception, both were friendly, and we were expected. Easy check in & keys to room 205 overlooking the road. Very clean, tidy, quiet and cool. The toilet had a sanitation band across it to show it had been cleaned and nice toiletries too, but the bath was a little tired. The double bed was large, no aircon but the large fan kept the room nice and cool, even though it was 30 plus outside.  Very friendly village, we had a walk and every person we past said hello.  There was a small shop and another bar, plus a campsite with a pool, which we didn't venture into.  The kitchen didn't open until 9.30pm but when it did the food was ample, lovely fish dishes and excellent value for money. We ate, cheese salad, calamares, sepia, croquetas & bread with a bottle of red wine, 2 beers and water at a cost of 38 euros. Amazing. The room included breakfast, free wi fi, free parking at a price of just 48 Euros (incl coffee, juice, tostadas and a glass of brandy!!).  We were a little worried about this hotel but we should not have been as it was great & yes we would return for another overnight stop if we go that way again.  A lovely hotel in vineyard countryside with friendly staff and locals.

Shouldn't have worried.

A reasonable hotel for an overnight stay.  Quite busy with local population and fun.  No wifi when we were there. Good sized room but no lift.  Good meal and good value for money.  Like many hotels in inland Spain it is in a small town but interesting just to wander about 


A good stopover

We were travelling across the mountains from Barcelona to Murcia; and this seemed a good area to night stop. Having read really good reviews of a nearby place that was fully booked, they kindly recommended Casa Emilio, so we booked it.
 The welcome and service we received in the evening was offhand, which surprised me. The cafeteria was open at 2100 hours and was bustling with locals and travellers alike. The wine was delicious, and we should have ordered tapas as they looked delicious too; but we had already chosen from the set menu, which was lacking; I actually enquired before ordering if the waiter recommended anything, but he was disinterested.  We were dissuaded from going in the restaurant, so had to endure a rather noisy child, and retrospectively we should have accepted being on our own in the restaurant.  The lady who checked us out was charming, which was a contrast to the check in!  
      The room was okay, although the bath/shower had some temporary repairs.  The bed was comfortable and the fan worked well so we had a good night's sleep.  The location worked well for us.

Stopover

Driving towards Cuenca from Teruel, this is the first decent hotel en route.  It is a pretty standard design with a bar/restaurant on the ground floor and some en suite hotel rooms above.  I arrived at 9pm well in time for dinner and the staff were helpful in organising a suitable room for a man with a sore hip.  I got a double room on the first floor, but was charged the single room rate - the single rooms were on the second floor.  

The hotel has free wi-fi, but dogs are not allowed so mine had to spend the night in my vehicle (as I travel a lot in Spain, he is used to this!).  The room was of a decent size with central heating and, as is common nowadays, the room and ensuite facilities were spotless.  My only complaint was that the bed could have been more comfortable, but I slept well and at €27 for the night, the room was excellent value.

I had dinner downstairs and was the only one eating.  The bill for dinner was €10 which included soup, main course and dessert with wine and water.  I have had better meals, but given I was tired and I did not have to leave the hotel, I consider it was reasonable value.

Definitely worth considering if it is getting late and you are looking for somewhere to stay overnight.
