Excellent stay with the amongst the best food of our trip - breakfast was spectacular as well as a delicious home made evening meal. A beautifully restored old building to a high spec with friendly staff. Thank you!

Great home cooked food in a luxurious setting

My wife and I stayed one night whilst touring in Northwest Spain. We used it primarily as a base for visiting an excellent seafood restaurant for lunch (A Lonxa in Burela), and for cycling around the local area on our e-bikes.

The house is in a very quiet rural setting with a local village (including a bar) within walking distance (albeit involving a fairly steep hill), and Burela a short drive away.  The grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of outside space in which to relax.  Our room was very large, light & airy.  The bed was extremely comfortable. There is ample easy parking within the grounds of the property.  We were also able to charge our e-bikes in-situ in the parking area which was convenient.

Our hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, despite us turning up early (so we could unload our bikes for a day's cycling). Our host, Ana, spoke relatively little English but we managed to communicate easily enough with our (limited) Spanish. She was very helpful suggesting some local sights to visit.

Despite having had a nice lunch at A Lonxa, we also wanted to try the evening dinner option at the property (advance booking required).  There is no menu, but we were treated to a 3 course feast of beautifully home-cooked food. Our (late-ish) lunch, coupled with the enormous portions(!), meant that we struggled to finish everything presented to us, but everything we tried was delicious. We were able to purchase wine to accompany from a winelist.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa do Mudo, but realised a couple of days later that my wife had left an item behind in the room. We contacted Ana, who could not have been more helpful in locating the item and posting it on to us. We are very grateful for this level of thought and attention!

Overall, we cannot recommend this property highly enough.  We thoroughly endorse it as a great relaxing base to visit a lovely area, and also recommend taking up the option for dinner (maybe skip lunch on this day though, you won't need it!).  Thanks again Ana for all your help...

Beautiful house and grounds, with very friendly and helpful hosts

We stayed two nights here in July. Maria and Miguel were excellent hosts. The food is wonderful and when sitting on our veranda after dinner Maria brought us some very potent local coffee flavoured liquer which was  really goodand some homemade cake.   The place is beautifully kept and before we left Maria gave us a very useful map of Santiago de Compostela (our next destination).  Thanks Maria and Miguel.   Laura & Mark x

A beautiful setting and place to stay if visiting Praia das Catedrais

Stayed in this lovely casa rural with my husband on 17th June. What a beautiful place! Unfortunately we were only staying one night and really could not take full advantage of it. The bedrooms are lovely, we had a separate sitting room overlooking the garden, tea and coffee making facilities and the beds are very comfortable. There was also a fabulous communal lounge area just outside our room and also seating in the garden and an outside dining area for when the weather is warm enough. We had dinner which was fantastic - lovingly prepared and presented, we couldn’t fault it and the breakfast was the best we’d had during our holiday - meats, cheeses, fruit, cakes, breads, eggs if we wanted them, freshly squeezed juice, nuts, honey..........
Anna is so passionate about the area, full of advice and information. We really must come back and spend some more time in this lovely region and stay at this beautiful house for longer.

Beautiful casa rural

We had two lovely nights at Casa do Mudo. A beautifully appointed and furnished family run hotel. It was more like being valued family guests than hotel customers. Dinner was included in our first night’s stay and we decided to have dinner on our second night too. Good decision! Lovely home cooked food that would get rave reviews in a restaurant.

A hidden gem

We stayed 2 nights and we were bowled over by this place. The property is stunning - the old stone family house beautifully and tastefully restored into a welcoming small boutique hotel. Ana, the owner is delightful - welcoming and cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are not huge but are spotless and with lovely bathrooms. There is a kettle and teas and coffee. We ate dinner both nights - mainly because there are no restaurants in easy walking distance and we wanted to sample the excellent wines on offer!! Not to mention the huge G and T's!!!  At least we tried to make the best of the big platefuls prepared by Manuel - scrumptious T bone steak one night and succulent fresh fish the second. Breakfasts were yummy - freshly squeezed orange, home made yoghurt and local honey - as well as cheeses, ham, fruit etc. 
Ana gave us lots of info about the area and where to go which was much appreciated. 
She speaks some English but a little Spanish will go a long way!! 
We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely like to go back.
It is a very special hotel in a beautiful part of Galicia. 

Wonderful place! 

We stayed two nights in this hotel. It is more like staying in a guest house and there is a lovely friendly family feel about it. The house itself and the grounds are beautiful, however our room was very small and once our cases were in we had very little space.
The wifi is awful also.
However Maria and Miguel are fantastic hosts, the place is beautiful and they have a couple of stand alone little houses for families too.
Maria and Miguel do not speak too much english, but they try very hard.
There is no menu here , you get what is cooked on the night, but both nights we had amazing food, langoustines the first night followed by a fab beef dish amd the following night salad followed by a traditional galacian pork dish.
Deserts were plentiful and Maria makes her own yogurt which has to be tasted!! , just fabulous.
The grounds are lovely and we were able to take a few hours on the comfy loungers just reading our books.
We felt very welcome and had a really lovely time.
