Bar, restaurant and a pool to die for filled with fresh water. Really nice place but sadly this establishment closed last summer, which is a shame. From the pool it is possible to see the trouts in the river.

We had been told about the "spa hotel" in Chulilla and last year had tried to book there 3-4 times without any success as it was always fully booked.  So, for my wife's birthday in mid-May I succeeded in getting a room for 3 nights at an excellent price of Euros 192 for both of us including breakfast and 2 aquatherapy treatments per each day.  The hotel staff are very helpful and the health staff are very nice and professional (in order to utilize the health center they require you see the doctor and fill out a medical check form - at no additional cost).  The area is very nice, surrounded by the mountains, and tranquil and they offer all types of treatment (my wife had a half-hour leg and shoulder massage and said it was very good for Euros 30); overall very peaceful.  The village of Chulilla is very picturesque and just 10 minutes up the road (by car) and Valencia close to one hour.   There are 3 - 4 restaurants in the village and surrounding area but you need a car unless you settle for the "buffet meals" they offer in the hotel.  The hotel rooms are a decent size but very basic; if you wish to have a terrace and a sense of more space with a view (as we did) it costs an extra Euros 10 a day.
Would I recommend it?  Yes, if you are visiting Valencia and wish to see the surrounding area and get away for 1-2 nights from the city buzz and traffic and be thrown into a complete relaxing environment and place which offers fresh air, good walks, maximum tranquillity and health resort treatments also for relaxation puropses.

Relaxing in the mountains near Valencia

Stayed here for 1 night in August 2008 as part of a week's holiday to Valencia region, including for the Tomatina.

Wanted to get out to the mountains and nice scenary of Chulilla so a spa hotel looked a good bet.

Please note however, this is not a spa hotel in the UK sense ie for relaxation/ pampering purposes. We went thinking it would be for leisure breaks but it appears as though the Spanish view of a spa hotel is in a medical/ remedy sense. 

Likes:
Location- in a valley, remote and only 5 mins drive to the great landscape of Chulilla. Easily accessible from Valencia. Please note we were the only English speaking in the hotel, and it seamed a 'novelty' for non Spanish to be there.

There was an outside pool fed from a spring, unfortunately when we were there it was empty and being refilled- a bit annoying looking at a half full pool in August!!The hotel is well kept and the views of the room are of the Valley.

Dislikes:
As mentioned, just to be aware it is very much a different interpretation of spa hotels than the UK. I thought it would be all pampering and leisure clientel, but it was mainly older clientel there being given 'medical' treatments by 'doctors' in white coats. It did feel a little daunting knowing only a little Spanish.

Cost variability: booked a few months online for 100 euros for the night but then in the few weeks preceeding our stay they put a special offer online for 50 euros a night- so best to hang on to the last minute to book. It was quite difficult to understand what was being booked too as no website in English book this hotel. Most full prices include an evening meal.

Would i recomend this hotel?
Yes , for its location. But only if you are prepared to understand it is a mainly Spanish clientel and most of the guests view this as a medical spa hotel rather than a holiday pampering spa hotel !
