This country inn located mid-way (almost) between Olvera and Puerto Serrano was a very positive surprise. We spent two nights here, doing Via Verde walking and biking (up and down) and visiting the bird observatory 6 km away. Rooms are smallish but comfortable. The restaurant offers typical Spanish food of good quality and the staff (who also are the managers, both of the hotel and the restaurant) are very kind and professional. Opening hours were generous - which is no small detail as the village itself is a bit far away. The bike rental on site was good, with knowledgeable staff and a wide assortment of bikes. Highly recommended!

Comfortable rooms, good restaurant and excellent staff

This was a halfway stop on our hike. Day 1 Olvera to Coripe 22 km. Spectacular scenery and easy terrain for walking.  Too many cyclists use this mountain route as a training piste rather than scenic tourism.

Hotel Estacion Coripe is small, simple and family run. Owners are very attentive and helpful. Hotel and rooms clean,fresh and well looked after.
The restaurant is fine with a winter room with a warm fire. The food is not special but perfectly adequate.

A super place, good atmosphere and worth the stop over.


Easter Hiking

Stopped here for one night while i hiked the via verde. Arrived in the evening after having walked from puerto serrano. A friday. The station was not very crowded like it was the next day. I was received warmly by maria and eugenio. The room was nice. It was cold though, but not unbearable. I had wifi in my room although eugenio asked that i not download anything on it.  But it worked fine for whatsapp which is what i needed. The shower didnt stay hot for longer than 5-8 minutes but the good thing was it didnt turn cold, just lukewarm/cool but easily bearable. Slept well. Dinner was pretty good. I got a bocadillo and some fruit and snacks to go the next morning for the long day ahead. 

All in all a nice quiet place to lay your head and rest. The location and setting are the two main draws for me. But i give it a 4 star instead of 3 because of the treatment i received. I will return if i do the via verde again. 

Would stay again

This former railway station building on the "Via Verde" is a nice country inn with rooms. Perfect location to relax and eat and drink a few things at very reasonable prices. Make a walk along the Via Verde which was a planned railway line which never made it to its inauguration. Pass through some of the short tunnels and enjoy the peaceful landscape but watch out for bicycle drivers who use this track as the Formula 1 track. Ca. 5 km outside of Coripe down the valley.

Nice place to relax and drink & eat a few things

Following a scenic 'green' route on our Michelin map between Seville and Ronda we found ourselves in the nearby town of Coripe ready for a good lunch but unable to find anything which looked appealing.  The weather was horendous but we pressed on into the mountains through some beautiful countryside before decending into a valley where, to our surprise, we spotted a sign for the Restaurant Estacion de Coripe.

It was off season and quiet but the door was open so we made a dash from the car in torrential rain.  We were the only guests but Juan couldn't have been more welcoming - even lending me his jacket to warm up from the rain.  You really do feel that nothing would be too much trouble here.  Juan talked us through the menu making suggestions along the way.  We had beautiful pan fried Iberico pork with a rich wild mushroom sauce followed by the most incredible fig pudding ( so good I had to have another portion and continued, in vain, to find a similar experience in the rest of Spain ).... all washed down with a great bottle of very reasonably priced wine.  This was one of the most enjoyable meals ( and one of the most reasonable ) of our trip - not fancy but cooked with love and presonal attention.

At the end of the meal Juan's mother - the chef - came out to make sure we'd enjoyed our meal.  This truely was a great experience that we would love to repeat someday.  If you're doing a road trip around Andalucia this is a lovely part of the country and the Estacion de Coripe is a treat along the way.   Loved it.
