This very pleasant guest house is easily accessible from the motorway and has plenty of free parking available. We received a very warm & friendly welcome and owners/staff were kind and helpful at all times. We had lunch rather than dinner and there was a good choice and the portions were generous. Our room was a good size with comfortable beds and a lovely view of the sea in the distance. Wi-Fi was good and on our TV we were able to access Netflix, which was great for an evening in. A good breakfast was included in the price. The little village is very pleasant and Silencio Beach, Cabo Vidio and Cudillero are close by. We only stayed one night, but would have been happy to stay longer.

A comfortable stay

We stayed two nights and did eat in El Fornon during our hiking tour. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The Restaurant was always full, familiar and lively. We felt like being at home and enjoyed it very much. It was a highlight of the tour. Don’t expect 4star level

Very stylish and friendly

Wonderful place to stay along Camino Norte.  Clean spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff and great food.  Especially enjoyed breakfast.  Well prepared and lots of food with complete breakfast.  Highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay.  Novellana is is nice town to visit enjoyed bicycles spread around town.

El Fornon trip review

Really enjoyed the hotel.   The room was comfortable and the included breakfast was excellent.   Good selection of food for dinner and large portions.   Staff very friendly.   One drawback is the bar-cafe next door has a large garden which rather surrounds this hotel and on a Saturday or Sunday night people stayed out talking loudly until      1 am.   Parking was easy.

Worthy of more than one star.

We stayed here for one night.  Parking available outside of the hotel restaurant. Easy to locate behind the yellow building. Friendly check in staff and cleaners. Good sized room with large television. Bath in bathroom. Noisy restaurant downstairs went on till after midnight on Friday night. No noise from the road. Church bells rang until 11pm and started at 8am. Delicious tostada breakfast. Lovely building with nice architecture. Comfy beds and soft towels.

Friendly Hotel Near the Coast

Location close to AC and easy to find. Clean rooms at an exceptional price. We were very tired and we stayed at dinner. We made the right choice. Dinner was a lot of food, very tasty at a moderate price. We were eating fantastic fish soup, lobster in rice and flan. The service is very good.

I am here right now, walking along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela... The room is nice, view on the sea... Food was good too and the service is excellent... I am having trouble speaking Spanish today and the gentleman behind the bar is very helpful and patient. 

A good night

Touring north coast, had enough driving and stopped here. 
Good room, slight water leak from basin in bathroom dealt with promptly. 
Found good walk down lanes to cliffs with amazing views of unreachable beaches
Lovely meal, reasonably priced. Best Sopa de Marisco I think I've ever had. 


Great location, good views, good food

We reserved the room with 40 euro a night. We arrived at dinner time so we ordered two sets of dinner. The lobster soup is delicious and big enough to serve 4 adults as the starter. We also had asparagus as the starter. I had 3 or 4 asparagus and each one is like a sugarcane and almost 3/4 feet long. My main dish is fish. What surprised me was the dish comes with two big fish fillets.

The room is very clean although you cannot expect it as a five-star hotel room. When I checked out the next morning, the male owner told me the price was 40 euro. I tried to explain that I also had dinner. Because he does not speak English, he finally wrote down "lunch at night + room = 40 euro". I was surprised because I would be happy enough if the room only costs me 40 euros. Let along that what I pay include a feast for two adults. I finally gave him 50 euros.

The owners are a senior couple. Both are very decent and cultured although they do not speak English.

The location is good for en route from Picos de Europa to other attractions such as Santiago de Compostela.

Excellent Food, Clean Room, and Wonderful Value

Spent a night here in the spring while traveling between Lugo and Cangas de Onis.  The owner, Juan, is a wonderful gentleman who loved to share with the guests.  The food was superb home-style. The accomodations are clean and comfortable, and very good vor the very affordable rate. This is a great place to spend a night and feel at home.  It is a beach area, therefore it must be quite different during the summer months.
