We stayed with our teenage children in December and it was absolutely freezing outside but inside it was warm as toast.  The kids and a room with 2 single beds which was enormous and had a beautiful blue & white tiled bathroom.  We had a double bedroom with a yellow bathroom and was big too.  Everything had been gorgeously renovated.  There was a TV in each room but it wasn't really necessary because the lounge down on the ground floor was so comfortable and inviting to sit in.  The room at the rear had a covered over well used at a coffee table which the kids found most interesting to look down.  The breakfast was a continental breakfast served in the wonderfully furnished dining room on the first floor by a lovely Spanish lady.  Osma is a beautiful town and I would highly recommend staying at the Posada del Canonigo if you like to get away from the standard hotel style room into something more individual and interesting.  When my husband & I sat down in the downstairs lounge area I thought how wonderful it would be to have a few friends here and to share the evening with a few wines.  Both our children who have never been to Europe before said it was the best place we had stayed.  Very memorable night.

Magical place, step back in time with all modern conveniences

I wa disappointed with this place. The location is very central - beware of the cathedral bell which sound as if they are in your bedroom! The building is pleasant enough but I disliked creaky echoing stairwell and the dull atmosphere - exacerbated by the owner who was incredibly sullen and unwelcoming. The rooms were OK , but not great and we could hear every word spoken by the people in the next room. El Burgo is a pleasant town, but don't go out of your way to go there.

Not keen

I stayed at this place, which is rather special, located on a square facing the cathedral of Burgo de Osma, which is a very nice little town in itself with many beautiful and well kept buildings. People of Burgo de Osma seem to be justly proud of their town and invest a lot in its renovation, most of the time very tastefully.

Posada del Canonigo is a small property with a limited number of rooms. The owner is an architect by profession and did a wonderful job in renovating and transforming it into a small hotel.

The room was large, comfortable, tastefully furnished, the bathroom was large and spotlessly clean.

You have more the impression to be staying with friends than to be in an hotel, the owner is extremely attentive, cultivated. We ate at the Posada, the owner made a menu for us, good food, good wine and all with a smile.

Some cons, for our American friends :
- no TV in room, no minibar in room, it's a choice
- apparently no A/C ???

A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT
