Having originally booked this accommodation, we had to cancel which we did in accordance with their free cancellation policy . The property refused to refund us and for two months we tried in vain to get our money back through booking.com . Eventually booking.com customer service had to refund us themselves as the property point blank refused to honour their terms and conditions . So travellers , beware !!!

Bad customer experience

Hotel is a typical highway restaurant, ideal area for transportation and tourists who want to shop in the local convenience store, including a gas station, a very spacious and quiet place to make a stop.

We had two rooms for a total of three adults when walking the Camino Frances:
Good localisation both for people coming by car or by foot.
This is a truck stop, but the windows were good insulated and the rooms had air conditioning, so there were no noice to be heard from outside.
Nice big rooms with comfortable beds.
Breakfast was alright. We also had a nice 3 meal meny in the evening.
Very recommendable.

Good also when walking the Camino

First thing I don't like: I'm asking about room prices and I'm making the road from Santiago. First of all, the bartender at the bar, a man with black hair with a mustache, should take care of me for the subject of booking the night. He should be new because he doesn't know how to use the computer program to check in. This can happen, we've all been new at work and he's still learning. First thing I don't like: I'm asking about room prices and he tells me that the night costs 33 euros and the average pension is 46 euros, that he pays the average pension to have dinner + the average pension for that price... but I'm not interested in the menu for dinner, I'm not interested in the difference between 11 euros, I'm not interested in the average price of the dinner, I'm not interested in the average price of the dinner, but I'm not interested in the average price of the dinner, but I'm interested in the average price of this one, but I'm interested in the average price of the dinner.

Because there was no more.

We also dined at the hotel and in this sense I do not recommend it because the food served to you has been cooked at noon, except on the table that they do at the moment.

Commodity is a commodity.

Well, I guess that I can't say that this was bad but it is basically a truck stop.  The room was absolutely fine, lots of room, good bed and bathroom.  Despite overlooking the truck stop outside it was quiet.  I didn't eat there in the evening but walked the 600 yards or so back into El Burgo as the hotel is alongside the road near the arterial main road.  So my average rating is more to do with location but perhaps more importantly for someone walking the breakfast was almost non existent a piece of flan (only one allowed) a coffee and an orange juice.  A positive was that as it is a truck stop you could have "breakfast" at any time so I left before it got light.

Stayed there as part of Camino Frances pilgrimage

Even though it was a gas station, the rooms were very well maintained, clean, comfortable, good bathroom, well-made dining and a reasonable breakfast, quiet at night, comfortable to have a convenience store in the building.

Good solution

Given that we are in August, a lot of people are eating, if they have forgotten us, wait for more than an hour, they don't take into account the turn of arrival at the table, they are overwhelmed, perhaps they assume more than they can expect, I don't recommend.

Comida is a comedy.

The location of the Hotel Castillo El Burgo was a stone's throw from the Camino de Santiago. It is part of a large service station. The room was adequate. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was good. It was quiet during the night. My bike was securely stored overnight.

A ggod overnight stop on the Camino.

After walking a long day on the Camino, I decided to search for an inexpensive hotel to stay at in lieu of an albuergue. I am so glad I did. 

For the price I paid, I could not have been happier. I feel I “got my money’s worth,” as they say. 

The bathroom was modern and well appointed. There was a shower in my room, no bathtub. Shower gel and shampoo were in liquid form in dispensers in the shower. 

The bed was about what I would expect from a hotel at this price point, but it was still comfortable. The pillows were comfortable, slightly better than I expected. 

Downstairs, there is a restaurant, which was decent. Quality is about what I’d expect from a gas station and truck stop diner. Service was very friendly. 

If you are walking the Camino de Santiago, on a road trip, a truck driver looking for a rest, etc., this stop is a good value.
