A great place to stay. The rooms are small and basic but clean and comfortable.Jose the owner is friendly and helpful and the garden area is a lovely space to chill out with a beer or seek some shade. Breakfast can also be taken in the garden. My only complaint would be the lack of a fridge, either int he room or access to a communal one.

Great place

We just spent a week at La Posada de Lola and although the rooms are quite small, the courtyard area makes up for it.  The courtyard is full of little bungalow style seating that makes you feel like you are in the tropics somewhere and the light Spanish music in the background reminds you of where you really are.  The room we stayed in was very simple and outside of the A/C not working everything was more or less as described to us so it was what we were expecting.  We picked up a 12€ desk fan and that was really all we needed to stay cool at night.  The internet connection could have been better but it worked and the lack of speed just pushed us to unplug for the outside world for our stay, which also made the stay more relaxing.  The location is right in the middle of Bolonia which has an amazing beach topped of with Roman ruins for those that enjoy a bit of history with their fun in the sun.  The beach is full of families and couples mainly and was very calm and enjoyable.  The B&B is run by Lola and her daughter Mares, and every morning they serve a very simple breakfast.  Admittedly, I am a bit of a foodie and coffee snob, but I did find the coffee very drinkable, although we did chose to eat else where.  Most other guests did eat breakfast there and were quite happy. The bar opens up again at the end of the day when the beach is winding down and Mares makes some excellent mojitos.  I would highly recommend the mojito fresa...I will miss those.  That was also a very enjoyable and relaxing part of the day in the courtyard.  The service was really great and the mother daughter team were extremely helpful in making recommendations and accommodating our needs.  The kicker is that they do not speak any English, which made it quite fun to communicate but we never had a real issue. If you are looking for a relaxing beach get-away that is not going to set you back financially, I would highly recommend La Posada de Lola and Bolonia beach.  I look forward to getting back there again soon.

Excellent value and nice retreat

We had a night here last week with friends who had previously stayed for 5 days.Bolonia itself is an amazing place. Posada de Lola is in the heart of the village in a private house with around 15 bedrooms. Each has been decorated differently,but with a Morroccan/Asian fusion,which works! Run by mother and daughter team,Lola & Mares,the Posada has been going for almost 30 years,so they are doing something right!. You enter through the little garden/courtyard,which has seating and tables for the breakfast area and lounger beds with netting to have a drink or meditate or whatever you need. They do an excellent breakfast bocadillo or toast,basic,but tasty and fresh.Good coffee and a cracking mojito.
The rooms are spotlessly clean ...upstairs they are bigger and you have to share a bathroom with maybe 3 other rooms,but they are cleaned constantly.the downstairs rooms aren't quite as nice,but they have their own bathroom.There was air con & heating,so i dont know what sunny jayjay was talking about.
Lola is very warm and welcoming,as is her daughter. I will be going back as often as I can...it is a home from home.Very reaonable prices,too. Walking distance to beach and restaurants and parking outside the hotel.

A funky little retreat

The Place is a bit hidden from the mainstreet of Bolonia. Lola is a very nice and kind person. The rooms on the groundfloor are smaller with just 1 window & airco and own bathroom. The rooms on the first floor are bigger, better view but to share the bathroom. So for everyone something !
40 - 50 Euro per room. Recommended horse riding with Paco. Ask at the desayuno Bar or in the Shop next to it for this men.

In Bolonia.....Very nice

I booked several months in advance for a short break at Bolonia - the web site made it look pretty nice and good value. It is appalling - we took one look around and decided not to stay, despite losing our deposit. Cramped hot rooms, no air con, most rooms sharing very few and basic shower rooms, you have to mop up after use, the beds uncomfortable. There are many other much nicer places to stay in this lovely place.
