Stayed here on the first night of the Comino De Santiago, lovely place, food good, lovely rooms, very rustic spotlessly clean and very friendly staff and attentitive
Very busy for travellers/pilgrims, small shop for souveniers, highly recommend


Fab B & B

Avoid Sarria and come to Barbadelo was our idea and we did not regret it. This is a nicely situated hostel where we stayed in a 4 bed room with own bathroom and towels. 
Price was 60 euro which was very reasonable as the room and the bathroom were big in  size.
Staff are friendly but overworked or understaffed whichever way you look at it. It has the usual hostel facilities. The food is above average for a hostel.
The place is modern and clean and the setting and views are great with a nice terrace and garden and in the back a ridiculously tiny pool.
Now if only they would plant some of those fast-growing eucalyptus trees to offer shade to the garden and the rooms facing the south. Such an easy and useful thing to do.

Good lodgings and food in a nice setting

This is a great little hotel to spend the night on the Camino de Santiago. Great pool, very nice porch for dining, good food and wine, nice coffee bar and beautiful scenery. The staff were friendly, and the food was good. It's a good place to take a break and rest your feet. Laundry service is available. 

Great little hotel on Camino de Santiago - hotel near  Sarria 

We are in Camino journey and so far best place and the best food!
Little Gem in the middle of the green farming area. 
Highly recommended.
Clean rooms, staffs are relaxed and friendly.  Focused in pilgrims rather than a benefit for money.
Owner is always smiling original.
I would come back again to spend time in the future. Buen Camino.

Best place to stay!

We stayed here our first night before starting out on the Camino. The rooms are nice and clean, nothing fancy, with great views from the terrace. There are a lot of folks staying here, so it’s kind festive with everyone sitting around patio drinking beers. Lovely settings, excellent vibes, breakfast and dinner options serves the purpose.

Decent First Night Stay

On the first night prior to our Camino walk from Sarria, we spent the night in Casa Barbadelo which was a 10 mins taxi ride from the Sarria train station. The hotel was situated in a countryside just near the usual Camino track, and cow farm. It is a beautiful country type of hotel, with good reception staff, good clean room, clean washroom, excellent hotwater, clean bedsheets. Dining menu was just nice to fill up. Breakfast was served with good local bread, orange juice, good coffee. Overall a nice hotel in the countryside.

Camino walk

I give the hotel room 3 stars and the restaurant 5 stars so overall 4 stars. First, the restaurant:. After a month on the Camino you begin to get really tired of the same d Pilgrim Menu fare. This place broke the mold.  The sangria was fantastic and the menu allows you great flexibility to pick and choose things that go a little outside standard pilgrim fare. We had the goat cheese on toast with onion appetizer - really good.  My wife had chicken noodle soup which she had been craving for days to settle her stomach. It was perfect!  I had a salad and rice with meatballs which we're tasty. We both have gotten really tired of the patata fritas thing and this place let's you step away from that. 

The room:. I consider 3 stars to mean "good enough" and that is what it was. So I will say a few negative things but that doesn't mean at all that it was awful or anything. We had a private room with bath.  Good size room, decent size bath, it was very clean, no bad smells and very quiet.  Room was very dim, insufficient lighting but that is more par for the course in the pensiones we have frequented. Beds were not great - super soft mattress, no box spring. Not real comfortable.  But hey, if you've just walked 20 or 30 km and get to sleep in a bed and not in a tent on the ground that is pretty good right??

We'd come back again and stay here, if we were doing the Camino again.

Great restaurant, good hotel

First of all, this place is in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful rural location in a very tiny village so this is pretty much the only game in town. Caters to pilgrims on the camino. Room was clean, bed was fine. Very basic but adequate. Lovely grounds but pool not open in April. The service was just ok. We had our bags transported and they were in the lobby, but they failed to mention that at check in. We had to go down and ask. Then it was “ oh..here they are.” They did offer to help bring them up to our room. Secondly, they said breakfast was at 7 which we thought was very early for Spain, but we didn’t argue.At 7, there is a lady with loaves of bread standing at the door, calling for someone to open up.  No problem for us but we got up earlier than usual to get breakfast.  Breakfast was your basic continental but fine for us. All in all, good for us since we didn’t want to walk any further on this stage.

Acceptable. Lacking a little in service

This is a small village along the Camino Francés route. There are a couple Tiendas and a couple lodging choices. We had a private room which was adequate, comfortable but not luxurious. There is an Albergue as well but I didn’t see it. We ate here as well and it was good quality food. This is a very busy stop along the way so service may take awhile. (This village is after Sarria so there are many pilgrims.)

Camino 2019

We stayed here the night before starting our Camino. We arrive at 7:30pm from Sarria station from our journey from Madrid. Check-in was not the friendliest- we’re given the keys to our room & pointed in the direction up the hill. The room was very basic but clean. 
We had dinner on the patio which was lovely, but again, no smile or warmth from staff waiting on us. We finished and went back to our room. We found the beds to be very uncomfortable, and hardly slept.
The following morning we were served a basic breakfast & were went on our way.
I understand this is a basic hotel that also serves as an albergue. It was actually fun to see the groups of young adults staying & sharing their enthusiasm. But after comparing our stay at other places along the Camino, I can say that the staff here seemed to act inconvenienced to interact with us or even answer simple questions. We spoke fluent Spanish, so I don’t think it was a communication issue. We did not experienced this anywhere else on the Camino.
The best part of this place is its location.
