Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. I agree with everything else written - overpriced, the owner is not helpful at all, and when I got home, I found that I had been charged twice for my 'experience'. Getting the money back was a total headache. Not only that, but the price charged was NOT what it was booked at. Granada is lovely, it's a shame it was tainted by this place.

Overcharged and 'sketchy'

I have been here for 2 nights with 3 other friends. We booked a room for all of us. The owner was very disrespectful. The room was dirty. The bathroom was at the end of the hall and it was horrible. We had to let the owner know every time we wanted to take a shower in order to turn on the hot water. In the second night, on a Sunday, we were out til 11 pm and when we came back, the owner wasn't there so we had to shower with cold water. When we called him, he started screameng at us because we disturbed him. 
I will never go back there and I advise you to stay away! You should pay some extra euro, but you know you will stay in a decent room.

worst place

Rarely unsatisfied when traveling and I have stayed in a lot of places during those past 7 years of travels.
Everything has already been said, this is very dirty, over priced, extremely noisy, smelly and depressing. 
Granada is such a magical city,this hostel isn't. I highly recommend that you don't chose this one.

Do not go

The worst place where my boyfriend and I have stayed overnight EVER, I cannot even call it a hostel because no standards apply to it whatsoever… Having experience working in hospitality myself, I really wonder how this place is still running and accommodating guests (I guess it’s because it’s one of the cheapest hostels in Granada, but it’s not worth a single cent and for the same price somewhere else you can get much better – or simply proper – conditions).
The hostel is located in the city centre, which is the only positive side of it, although in Granada you don’t need to stay in the very heart of the city to experience it, as it’s easy to get around and it doesn’t take a long time to get to places by foot. 
The building where you find Pensión Princesa welcomed us with an odour of sauerkraut, which unfortunately was present also in our room and bathroom (we stayed in a double room with a private bathroom for two nights). The room was permanently dark, as the only window, frosted and not letting much light in, lead to a courtyard surrounded by walls of the building, where cleaning utilities, bikes and other things were kept, and if we didn’t want to be seen by people, we had to have it closed all the time, and have the light on. In the small bathroom there was no ventilation and we had the same issue with the window, so even after a minute of taking a shower the whole bathroom was steamy and the walls and the mirror were dripping with water. Opening the window after the shower helped getting rid of the moisture but it took a long time and made both the bathroom and the bedroom colder than before (February is very cold in Granada). The grout between the tiles over the bathtub were covered in fungi, which I found particularly disgusting. Also, there was no bin bag. Our towels weren’t changed throughout our stay in the hostel, which didn’t bother me much, as we stayed there only for 2 nights, but I don’t know whether they’d be changed if we stayed for longer. We had to use one towel as a floor mat. 
The room was also very cold, without any rug on the floor. The receptionist informed us that the heating starts from 9pm until 9am, and indeed the only radiator got warmer during that time, but it must have been very old or just broken because every 5 minutes we were being disturbed by a loud banging sound the radiator emitted and we couldn’t sleep during the night. What’s more, the walls in the hostel were quite thin and didn’t block the sounds in the hostel; we could hear people coming back very late or the receptionist talking loudly in the morning, waking us up, having no consideration for his guests trying to sleep.
Generally, we are used to this sort of inconveniences, as we are students travelling on a budget and we typically go for something cheaper, so everything would be forgivable and forgettable if not for the behaviour of the owner/receptionist, who I guess is the same person. Due to my own fault, I forgot a small, but very valuable thing from the hostel. I realized it after a day and a half, as I didn’t need to use it earlier. When I called at 11pm and started explaining the situation, the person speaking only yelled (!) at me that I should call in the morning and ended the call. There is no indication when it’s too late to call and because we heard the receptionist before, late at night, then I wanted to contact him as soon as I found out about the thing I’d lost. I came back to the hostel in person in the morning and spent 1.5 hours waiting, as it was closed. When the owner arrived, he couldn’t be bothered speaking to me, occupying himself with some duties or talking to other people. He would only reply to me that he hasn’t seen anything and there is nothing found by the cleaning woman. I asked multiple times for letting me look in the room I stayed in, but he said there are guests and I can’t enter it. Only after some time he let me in the room (the room was clean and prepared, with no one in it) and unfortunately, I didn’t find my thing. He wouldn’t let me speak to the cleaner no matter what, but during those two days we spent in the hostel (leaving only to get some food in the evening, as we needed to do some work and use the internet) we never saw anyone else apart from the receptionist working there, so I’m not even sure if such person exists. 
I went to the Police station later on and they suggested me getting a complaint form from the hostel (“hoja de reclamaciones”) and that’s the only thing I can do, but if I were refused one, I could call the Police. It didn’t work out at the end, because I not only needed to have a proof of possessing such thing (which is old enough not to have any bill), but also to fill in a warranty at the reception desk, stating valuables I carried with me in case of loss – which from now on I recommend everyone to do. When I went there in the afternoon with my boyfriend, the hostel was closed, and we saw the receptionist in a pub beside (he must be the only worker of the Pensión Princesa, if he closes the whole place to go out), so we came back the next morning. This time he wasn’t being ignorant like previously, but clearly angry, annoyed and confrontational. He wouldn’t listen to what we had to say and wouldn’t give us the form for 15 minutes. He started shouting at us, ignoring completely what we were trying to say. We both speak Spanish and that’s the only language the receptionist would use, but it was difficult to understand him because he didn’t care about speaking even a little bit standard Spanish (let alone English), instead he was blurting mostly incomprehensible words with the Andalusian accent, so there was no proper communication between us. He was walking around the reception very agitated, throwing his arms in the air all the time. He was opening some drawers to show me that my thing isn’t there and then slamming them loudly. He even started holding some objects right in front of my face to show me that it isn’t what I’d lost and shouting at me. At this point I was already shocked by his behaviour and scared of his aggressiveness and wanted to call the Police, but he finally gave us the complaint form (which looked frequently used from the pile). The man stamped it in the section where we had to give the reason for complaining, so we had no space for writing… Childish. 
I’m not accusing the owner of stealing my thing at all, as I didn’t see him taking it. I realize I should’ve been more careful and watch over my stuff, but at the same time I know that hotels usually don’t have a reason of not giving back forgotten belongings and they care about the opinions of their guests most of all and they want to resolve issues with them peacefully. I really wanted to get my thing back and that’s all I cared about. I wish the owner were more respectful, customer-friendly and, most of all, calm, even if I were still to not find my lost thing, but most importantly cooperative with us. I advise everyone not to come to this place and if you do, just check if you took everything with you. And never ever argue with the man, for your own safety.

This “hostel” is a joke

We had the little two bed apartment but we didn't actually know we would be in a hostel as we booked the apartment through AirB&B. The good - excellent location, comfortable enough, serviceable if basic, clean enough, lovely French door overlooking street below. The not so good - noisy, shower over bath poor (no plug for bath therefore couldn't bath or shower properly ... only real option was to hand shower), expensive for quality of apartment (too pricey for a place without aircon), wouldn't let us leave bags for a few hours after check out. Last point is the vote swinger - I would have returned as the location is excellent but the inflexibility regarding bags is unacceptable for a pension in a massively tourist city ... if you don't know Granada it's very hilly so not much fun lugging your suitcases round!
