Huerta de Vero

The hotel is very cozy but there is no service. When we arrived we mistakenly entered the door and approached the restaurant which was locked and behind the glass door a gentleman who tried to show us his gestures. At last the owner opened and explained that this was the entrance to the restaurant but let us pass to go to the reception. Once there the lady manually filled out a form with our data and when she finally accompanied us to our room it turns out that she was busy just like all the others she tried, except one that was unfinished. The lady starts cleaning the room and a little later we could finally pass. We arrived at 8:30 and went down at 9:30 p.m. The simple but correct dinner for the owner was all we had to wait for.

A hotel with charm but poor service.

No bills and no refunds of previously collected money, the rooms are not ready on time, and when you are not interested in picking up or hanging up the phone, no recommendation is under any circumstances.

We were there on August 28, 2023. to begin with, we had two rooms and only one was given to us, we had to go for a walk and eat outside because we lacked a room, because it was our pet, we had to take her to an emergency vet and they couldn't do anything for her, she passed away. So after not being able to cremate her there why she had to be moved to Lleida, we went to talk to Lourdes, the owner of the Lagar de Vero and told her what had happened. The only thing she told me was that there were things for us, so we decided to go back to Madrid. We read that she was going to charge us for that room without taking her and she said that we would not pay 100 euros for the rooms and dinner because this happened at 18.30 pm.

It lacks empathy and has little faith and is a winner.

It's a very pleasant time to be quiet.

We asked for an hour for 2:30 a.m. The last plate of the second arrived at 4:10 a.m. Almost two hours after our arrival. It was supposed to be a salmon tartar consisting of salmon on the minced plate over fruit reheated by the salmon, disgusting. The rest of the dishes with more or less vinegar. In the face of protests over the delay and the tartar that was not a tartar the waiter didn't throw out a diatribe about being alone, people who didn't want to work and about their intimate parts. Then we apologized. We also asked to speak with the owner, who didn't show up to the area.

Everything is surreal from the moment we enter until we leave, booking at 10 in the morning, by 3pm the owner tells us if we can get there early, we make the effort, but when we arrive they don't pay attention and then they tell us that we don't have a reservation, at the end we sit down and wait for an hour, the next table gets up and leaves, after an hour of waiting they tell them there is no lamb, we too, they could say that when they took us... other gentlemen leave without taking the dessert, at last a complete disaster from start to finish.

A total disaster!!!!

We went to the restaurant one Thursday at noon and it was closed, when the sign said that the staff's rest day was Tuesday... We tried again two days later, at 14:45, there were 4 adults and 3 children. The lady who was there told us that I was alone and that to attend to us was DEMASIADO TRAVAY.

A nice meeting with the bosses who, despite the language barrier, we were able to have a good time with the explanation and history of the place.

It's a beautiful, random discovery from our trip.

We stayed in El Lagar de Vero during a weekend that caused a high demand of lodgings in the Alquezar area. The rate that we paid was excessive for the type of accommodation but at least the amenities and the rooms characteristics exceeded what you nay expect. Adapted in an old building you may consider the lack of stairs in case of traveling with heavy luggage.
