Great little hotel near the Tarifa beach! Room was comfortble, breakfast was excellent, the dinner restaurant and chirigito delicious and the location fantastic. Friendly service and stunning gardens as well. It is comfortable luxury at a very good price.

I was looking forward to visiting this colonial style hotel.  A great welcome at reception from a lovely welcoming staff concierge. We were directed to the beach bar for coffee and salad on offer.

Unfortunately the staff member at the bar was decidedly gruff, ignoring us as we arrived and while standing at the bar seeking service. Rude and dismissive. I do wonder why people do such jobs if they don’t like what they are asked to do. It shows what seems a lovely hotel up in a bad light.

Visit to Beach Cafe

A wonderful hotel, clean rooms, comfy beds, and tasty breakfast. The staff go that extra mile to ensure you have a relaxing stay, you feel like family even after a few days. The whole ambiance is laid back and chilled whilst still maintaining a high standard of customer care.  The food from the beach beach is delicious and the evening dining is divine. The grounds and pools are so picturesque and so close to the beach! Just a perfect place to unwind and relax. 

A bit of paradise

Love the location, the friendly staff and the good food. Been a few times and never disappointed. The rooms overlooking the gardens are best. Dinner was very good and breakfast good, but missing more fresh fruit. We took the dog and she loved it too!

Another fab break in Tarifa!

Located about 2km outside Tarifa, so a car required.  Spacious car park.  Beautiful, Moorish style hotel.  Probably needs a lick of paint but this kind of added to its charm.  Lovely staff, nice breakfast and almost on the beach, which stretches for miles!  Room was spacious, warm, brilliant shower.  Netflix available on TV.  Beautifully tended gardens.  I just can't fault this super hotel.  Can't believe it's only 2 star.

Restful, idyllic location.  Great hotel.

We stayed in a sea facing room, although you can’t actually see the sea itself. Rooms have everything you need and are very comfortable.
Hotel itself is about 7kms from Tarifa itself, walkable in an hour or so along the beach.
We didn’t try the restaurant as it seemed quite pricey but had drinks in the bar at very reasonable costs. They also have a chiringuito on site, with wonderful views across the sea to Morocco, offering a variety of food at great prices too. 
A big shout out to Vanessa for all the help and suggestions. In particular, if you have food allergies, intolerances or preferences let the hotel know in advance, they will do their utmost to accommodate.

Lovely hotel, excellent staff

Used to be a place I'd come to relax with the sound of the wind and sea, not anymore, really annoying music is played and you end up leaving. Shame. A lot of the bars in Tarifa are now doing the same, cut the music and work on creating a nice atmosphere.

They now play annoying music outside on loop.

I’ve been to the Hurricane for many years but have found that it is going down hill. Yesterday I went with some friends who were excited about visiting. There is a lovely terrace over looking the pool but we were told they were reserved for dinner guests only - not that there was anyone sat at them. We went to the beach bar and waited for 15 minutes but no one came out so I went to make an order. The woman behind the bar wasn’t very friendly and said the only cocktails they did were mojitos! Not very good

Poor service

When checking into the hotel room, the safe was broken. Hotel maintenance had no interest at all in repairing the problem

Subsequently, my laptop, iPad and other items were stolen without any sign of break-in..... EUR 3,500 in gear missing!!

At the time, desk staff was helpful, but hotel management did not bother to reach out.....

I was later asked to supply the police report 'for the insurance'

When I supplied the invoice of the replacement gear I bought..... basically no response and responsibility for this very strange event was ignored

My advice: Take care of your gear and do not trust hotel security!!!

LAPTOP & IPAD STOLEN: It is not what happens, but how you deal with it.....

Fabulous stay but the service is shocking, lacking attention to detail, which is such a shame.  Five star prices but only a two star hotel. Lovely grounds and super chilled.
It is around one hour walk to Tarifa which is pleasant walk along the beach. 
Food ok in the beach bar and never tried the main restaurant.
