Without a doubt, the worst place I have stayed in many a long year travelling though three or four continents including Africa.  First and foremost, the apartment we were provided fronted the main E603 road into and out of Segovia along which the traffic doesn’t really ever stop.  Since the apartment has no A/C so requiring a window to be opened, the traffic noise is considerable.  Add to this the fact that the apartment is in a light industrial area - gravel quarry opposite, dead cat in neighbouring bushes, etc., heavy vehicle traffic is not uncommon and just to top it off there is bar/restaurant immediately below which meant that for two nights, sleep was very much at a premium and we left exhausted.
As for the apartment, the wifi code we were given failed to connect us to a router, one shutter was stuck in the open position, the bed base sheet had holes, there was one bedside table but no bedside reading lights, there was one blown electric bulb in the hanging ceiling lights, there was no kettle or bottle opener, no glasses other than small tumblers, etc., etc.  I must mention the shower tray which at 60cm square, is the smallest cubicle I have ever showered in anywhere in the world.  Once you are in, I found it quite impossible, and am a slim 34” wait sort of person, to bend or reach  down to wash anything below knee level.  And whilst on the shower room, the lid of the waste bin was broken. I could go on but I think the above paint the picture sufficiently.
Oh, the good news - the place was clean.

Studiously avoid if possible

the apartment was quite good and had almost everything we needed. We were lucky to stay with another family in another apartment, so we could share what was missing in each place.

The lady that welcomed us was nice at all times and gave us some advice about what to see in Segovia.

Right across the street there were three supermarkets, so we could buy some groceries for the night. 

The only thing we didn't like was that since we had to leave early the next morning, we had to leave the keys in a nearby hotel which belonged to them too. And the guy there seemed quite annoyed to be given the keys when we told them that we were from the Veladiez apartments. But I wouldn't hesitate to be back sometime in the future.
