The first impression we got was that it smelled very bad. The house is large and old and with old furniture but very poorly maintained. If we filled the food of the ant dog and had to buy an insecticide because they were everywhere. We also had to buy an air conditioner and it wasn't very clean. I really don't recommend it.

The owner is very attentive and pleasant. The house is 2 km from the village too isolated, somewhat ghastly, very dark and very windy at night. The exterior of the house is very well maintained and garden, interior with nice old furniture but the rooms are terrible. Excess of religious symbols and family photos, old and smelly beds, very old and smelly bedding, very uncomfortable to sleep there. It needs a fine setup because in these conditions I wouldn't recommend it.

Disappointing yet beautiful exterior.

The Fincas Fimbapaire is very quiet and idyllically embedded in the picturesque valley. The landscape is characterized by several free-standing volcanic mountains. The bare hills show up in wonderful brown, oak and yellow tones. The historic and very beautiful Casa rural is simple and traditionally decorated. The ancient and quiet interior affords a special charm. It is a magical place. One simply experiences something great, one hears the melody of the wind, one looks at the landscape in the sun shining its colors as much as the shadows and constantly enchanting new nuances. The light and shadow playpa is fascinating. Fincans with Rome are an ideal place to explore. It is a place where visitors can experience a lot of excitement and excitement. A magical place

This is a lovely old building, nicely restored, in a central part to the. North of the island. The owner is very friendly. However we were very disappointed at the very poor quality of
A - bedding...there were holes in the bed covers, bed sheets almost transparent with age, ancient bobbled up blankets
B- lighting, very very dark and dim, the owner hadn't bothered to check light bulbs were working, it was dark and dismal at night and quite hard to read
C- pans were ancient, no kettle , pan we found had handle which was extremely hot when put on gas ring to heat up water
D- no heating.
Other reviews have mentioned this e.g. In guest book in house and on booking.com.
Owner has done nothing to address these issues. a shame, if he spent £200 it would be so much more comfortable.

Lovely house but lack of care and attention to detail

It's the third time we've decided to stay here, in one of the rural falls of good Pedro, some in the open countryside and others in the country, all old, very beautiful and well-maintained.

That's great, Pedro.

I gave 4 stars to this property because it is the ideal place for the non-tourist traveler... basically if you are looking for nightclubs, dinner at the restaurant, evening walks between city shops or equipped beaches this house is NOT for you. but if you are looking for a base from which to move to explore the shallow beaches and dine in the total silence of the small village where it is located, one of Pedro's rural houses is the ideal place for you. The village of La Oliva is in the center/north of the island of Fuerteventura and in about 30 minutes you can get to Corralejo (tourist and port) and Puerto del Rosario (too many cities for my taste). In about an hour and a half you can get to the property of the south island.

Oasis of silence

We stayed in a lovely house on the Olive. We enjoyed the house very much. It was large with two rooms even though we used only one. Pedro, the owner, was very kind. We contacted him and made the reservation by email. There was no problem about it. He explained to us how to get there and advised us which company to rent the car. The kitchen is equipped even though the pots and pans were not new. But we do not cook practically. Yes, I suggested putting the new cafeteria in as the one that is already oxidized. The dormitory sleeps very well. A great peace of mind. We are very tall, I'm 1.75 and my boyfriend 1.80.

Casa Las Portadas Fuerteventura is located in the heart of the city.

We stayed in one of the two Fimbapaire houses. It is outside the village, quiet in the middle of nature and yet five minutes' drive from a small supermarket. The owner is charming and the house is spacious and well restored. You can eat outdoors in the wind watching birds, rabbits and squirrels. The ideal place for naturalists. The couple who rented the other house was quiet which made our stay very pleasant. There is another house in Las Portadas that is in the village. Important to make clear which house this is.

Casa Fimbapaire (and not Las Portadas)

My wife and I stayed in Casa Las Portadas in La Oliva for two weeks in December 2016 and it turned out to be one of the most charming holidays we have had in 45 years together. The house is practically a living museum and what "modern" amenities there are e.g. cooker and shower, are fairly historic themselves. (n.b. there is good wifi) Why a 5* review then. Well, after the initial surprise at the historic nature of the place, we slept like logs in the dark and peace of the location, waking to explore the house, make breakfast and start the day on the terrace overlooking a field of cactus. Pedro, the owner, came around during the day and asked us if we needed anything and purchased us a new kettle. We conversed through Google Translate. The next two weeks were spent exploring the island by car and on foot, happy to return "home" each night. During our stay, Pedro showed us around the Museo De Los Tradiciones, which adjoins the house and his enthusiasm and love for the history of the place became infectious. It has to be the most peaceful holiday we have ever had and provided an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local atmosphere. La Oliva itself seems to be very community oriented and has enough facilities to satisfy curiosity and practical needs. This includes a cafe making the best pizza I have tasted, a weekly produce market, a small supermarket, a library and various other bars and eateries.We plan to go back (in time?) ASAP and would recommend this house to anyone who is seeking a peaceful break and who is happy to keep it simple.
