This a handy little stopover. This hotel offers good value for money and certainly a friendly atmosphere. We visited on motorbikes and the hotel offers secure underground parking. That in itself is a big plus when touring. The hotel is located near to a square where you can find a choice of restaurants.

Four On Tour

A small townhouse on one of the main streets leading to the main square.
You get to the reception desk via a tacky bar, then through the underground car park to the bedrooms.
Bedroom small but functional.

Weird. Not a villa either.

This was our third time of stopping as it is a very handy overnight stay to and from Santander but sadly the hotel seems to be on the decline. This was our worst experience by far with the young receptionist being far more interested in her phone/television and treated us with disdain throughout even though we were trying to speak Spanish. She made no attempt at all to speak English and made us feel uncomfortable. She gave us the smallest room imaginable even though the hotel was "empty" The ensuite was falling to pieces.
And if you want anything to eat anywhere in Lerma before 8.30 pm at this time of year - forget it - it's impossible. 
All in all a disappointing stay for our last night in Spain and when we return in September we will drive further or stay in the Lerma Paradores which does look nice!!


Getting worse

Located next door to the Parador this is a quiet little hotel with a pleasant reastaurant. Rooms were  a bit dark and the bathroom shower was barely adequate but the wifi worked in the bedroom and it was very clean.

You need to wait up late for the meal!

Stopped off at this 'hotel' on way to Santander.  Satnav took us straight there but could not access hotel as road was blocked off so parked car and walked to hotel - receptionist spoke no English or pretended not to spent an hour trying to tell her couldn't get to hotel car park! Eventually gave up and walked back to car for Some reason road was now unblocked so was able to drive to hotel car park.  Room was clean but very sparse no bedside lights only big bright light. Asked for 2 extra pillows and after a while 2 grubby cushions were brought to room!  This is a hostel but charges hotel prices. To cap it all had cup of coffee in the morning and receptionist was picking her nose while pouring it ugh! Lerma is a lovely old town ideal for stopping off en route but don't stay here!
