Pepe, the owner of the apartments also owns the restaurant below - El Cuera.  As we were nearing Llanes, I called to get directions and was told to park at the plaza until we could be taken to the parking area.  Upon arrival at the plaza, I was a little concerned because of the crowds and noise – thinking that sleep would be an issue.  My concern was unfounded.  The owner helped us take our luggage to the apartment, showed us around, and then rode with us to the parking lot.  He spoke very little English, and we spoke no Spanish, but everything worked out wonderfully.  We were given a key to the room and the code to get into the building.  It was very safe, and noise was not a problem.  Perhaps it would be in the summer. Our room faced the plaza, but the windows kept the noise out.  One other apartment was rented, and we could only hear the children when we were in the hall waiting for the elevator.  The apartment and the common areas all were beautifully decorated with art. Each apartment has a theme of an artist.  Ours was Diego Rivera, and all the artwork in the apartment was in homage to him. The apartment, except for the kitchen, would be cleaned every day, with fresh towels, if we wished.  In our 4 day stay, we took advantage of this once. Only using the kitchen for breakfast, we never cooked, but the kitchen seemed to be equipped nicely.  The refrigerator was small and under the counter, but there was no stove.  There was a 2 burner cooktop and microwave. The bath and shower were small but not unusual for Europe.  The bathroom did need more lighting.  The beds were comfortable.

Llanes is a great base for exploring the area.  Pico de Europa National Park should not be missed, and there are many beaches and small towns along the coast for visiting. Hunting for bufones became quite an adventure for us.

Lovely Apartment

The apartment is very stylish and in a  perfect location. We didn’t really use the kitchen area, but it is well equipped. The beds are comfortable, the shower is good. Towels, hairdryer and iron provided. The shower has a soap dispenser if you are only bringing hand luggage. 
The view out of the windows is lovely - mountains. 
The location is perfect. We used Llanes as a base to then drive around the area, but it was great for the evening as everything is on your doorstep. 
Visit Playa Franca if you can. 

Perfecto

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights while exploring the Asturias region. Surprisingly, the apartments are very modern, extremely clean and well equip with anything you need. Pepe is lovely. He greeted us and showed us where the free parking is (a small walk away). On our walk back from the car park, Pepe pointed out places to visit or eat at, along with other information. The apartments are very central - located right in the middle of one of the plazas. Surrounded by bars and restaurants, but still quiet. 

Again, this apartment is not far from the main beach in Llanes, or the beautiful walk which you can do along the coast which is about 6km. Its such a beautiful area, and staying here really topped it off. Its also not far from Covadonga - about a 45 min drive. So a great location to use this as a point of exploring!  

The only downside was the wifi - it did cut in and out. But it worked on the ground floor ok.

Great Location, Free parking, Beautiful city!

Centrally located in the heart of the action. Beautiful apartments with a great location. The Cuera Restaurant and terrace are great for anytime of the day. Overlooking the plaza and the river !!! Cant ask for more perfection. The staff is great. 

The best location

The Plaza Mayor apartments are located in the very centre of the old town in the picturesque seaside resort of Llanes. 
The apartment we stayed in was on the top floor of the three floored building and named after Pablo Picasso (all of the apartments are named after Spanish artists). The apartments are very modern inside with a clear arty feel to them. There is a kitchen/dinning/lounge area with one long bed/settee. We could have done with another chair in here as it was a bit cramped with four of us sat on it but otherwise good. 
The kitchen was functional (could have done with a few extra utensils, bread knife, scissors etc but that's being picky) and was fine for cooking light meals. 
The bedrooms are a twin and large double. Again being picky - could have done with a fan in the double room as it was a bit humid on some nights with no air flow, but otherwise very comfortable. 
The views out of the rear are spectacular with a view over the river, market area and the Picos mountains in the distance. 
As you walk out of the apartment building you walk straight into the busy square with cafés and bars with the typical buzz you get from a Spanish night out. 
Llanes is very typically Spanish with very few English tourists and even fewer English speaking locals which is great as long as you are prepared to have a go at the language. 
I would highly recommend a stay at the Plaza Mayor Apartments and a trip to the wider Asturias Coast line which is best summed up as Cornwall with the heat. Beautiful beaches, golden sands and waves to bodyboard on. Great!
