I really liked my staying at La Perla Asturiana. It's a super cleaned Hostel with everything at your fingertips. The staff is very kind and helpful! The room was simple and nice with flowered tent and flowered blanket, which I loved! I would definitely book again there next time I'm in Madrid. Highly recommend!

Perfect accommodation in the city center

I has to travel to Madrid and I was looking for location over comfort and made reservación to La Perla Asturiana because even it has only a rating of two stars, it was justo a block from the Plaza Mayor and there blocks away from la Puerta del Sol, could not be a better location than that. To be frank, I was apprehensive because It has only two stars, but It was a clean place, quiet and the staff was five stars for surge, a fantástic service and helpful, It was a really great surprise.  The problem is that has not elevador but the staff carries the luggage to and from your room.  Close to great bars and restaurants and to most places to visit in downtown Madrid.  Do not regret making reservations there.  Truly satisfied

Very nice surprise

I stayed with my girlfriend in this hostal in the beginning of March. We felt at home since the beginning of our stay. The staff were really kind, specially Mohamed, the kindest. 
We stayed in a room with private bathroom and everything was perfect, and the price was amazing. 
If I were to return to Madrid with my girlfriend I would definitely stay in this Hostal.
And I have to say, the location was perfect.

Perfect

Old style hotel, do not expect fancy amenities or decor.

There is no self check in, and every time you leave or enter you have to leave/collect your card-key. 
You cannot bring guests. 

My room was on the internal side, was not too hot and my bed was comfortable.

Shower pressure was really good and I never had issues with hot water.

The staff is lovely and they’ll do all they can to make you comfortable.

You can also leave your luggage after your check out on the last day.

The wi-if was strong!

There is no kettle. I didn’t try the tv. 
Sometimes you can hear other people in the rooms (or when they take showers).

The location is everything!! I never had to take the metro and I visited all town just by walking!! Amazing!

Great location for exploring

I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights and the service and the staff were extremely welcoming. The location of this Hostel is perfect for tourist, with everything nearby. The kindness from Hector, Max and Ofred was amazing on how they guide you to make the most out of your trip and not waist time. Ive stayed at many hotels but the cleanliness of this hostel impressed me, everything was extremely clean and organized.I truly enjoyed my stay here and will recommend it to everyone. I will absolutely be going back.

Great Stay at a Great Value!

What a fabulous little find this was . Warm welcoming, clean with lovely helpful staff but above all cheap ! Our room was a double bed with bathroom . Very quiet inside whilst the city was bustling outside . Couldn’t wish for a better location close the Plaza Mayor square . Madrid is good for walking but has a great metro system . Closest metro station is SOL . We walked to the food market a must to visit , the Cathedral and Palace .. the other direction we walked to the Retiro Park that’s close to the prado museum and Botanical gardens . Retiro Park is really buzzing with a big lake with rowing boats for hire , cafes and street theatre everywhere. We chose to eat at taberna Flamenca el Cortijo which is a dinner/flamenco show and another Night Taberna Griega on a Saturday night has dancing and plate smashing (watch it or join in ) both venues were fantastic and fun , we took the metro to each of these venues . The Hostal has maps and metro maps to give away .

Long weekend at Hostel la Perla Asturiana Madrid

The excellent location, quiet room, and excellent receptionist Hector don’t compensate for this dingy place. Threadbare sheets; lumpy pillows; old, ugly curtains and bedspread. Musty room; ancient, scuffed furniture. The bathroom looked clean, but smelled like a sewer. Sink didn’t drain well.

LOCATION

The little hotel is perfectly located within a walking distance from the main attraction of the city and less than five minutes to Sol Square.

ROOM

Room is fine and enough for the stay. My room was provided with a private bathroom, air conditioner, TV and a little desk.

BATHROOM

Bathroom is small but enough, they also provide some toiletries. I would also like to add that it seemed to be perfectly cleaned.

SERVICE

Something that I would like to point out is the service provided by all the staff. They are extremely helpful and polite. Always willing to help you whatever you need. 

Perfect location perfect service 

I don’t know if it the same for you but big cities are always the most stressful part of our travels.  The logistics of getting around without a car, finding adequate accommodation close to what you want to see at an affordable price and just how busy they are makes big cities a challenge.  Staying at the Hostal La Perla Asturiana helped us deal with all these issues.  This Hostal is close to Madrid’s main train station so quite easy to get to when you have never been to this city before.  It is also just around the corner from Plaza Mayor and only a few short blocks from Plaza Del Sol.  It is actually so centrally located that during the day it was easy to drop back to your room to pickup needed items or just take a break.
We stayed here twice while in Spain.  First near the end of March and then again before we left Spain from Madrid at the end of April.  The rooms were very adequate for the price in Madrid.  Big cities are usually more expensive then smaller ones and at this Hostal prices are very good on your budget.  What really makes this Hostal though is the staff.  They are so very accommodating and friendly.  They look after you like you are part of their family.  If you have a question, need or request they will do their very best to fulfil that.  Much of what made seeing Madrid easy and fun was that we got excellent advice and information from the staff and the location of the Hostal. Even when we were going to our taxi to the airport to leave Spain a staff member accompanied us to the taxi on the street to ensure that we got away to the right terminal in safety.  Only place on our trip to do that.  We just want to say “Thanks” to all those at La Perla Asturiana Hostal for making our time in Madrid so wonderful.  I think you know that we really recommend this Hostal for your stay in Madrid.

Great location but it is the Staff that makes the difference.

The Hostal la Perla Asturiana is centrally located, the rooms are simple and very clean. City Tour buses are just around the corner and most of the attractions can be reached by Walking (Museums, Galleries and tons of restaurants, coffee houses and bars). The staff is very helpful and I can highly recommend a stay-over for a couple of days.
