Basic accommodation, for a great price and a brilliant location. Booked as a “cheap and cheerful” through a prominent Booking website. It’s right on Puerta Sol so handy for commuting and has nearby 24 hour shops and fast food. 

Our room was small, and when we arrived the coding machine for room keys was broken so we had to be escorted from reception (on the second floor) to the fifth floor to gain entry to our room. Not ideal, but hilarious in retrospect. 

The loft only worked day one, so a lot of stairs after that. The staff were all lovely, especially the gentleman who worked night shift on the front desk. 

Room had two beds, a fridge, air con, a safe a bathroom and free wifi. Really could t complain for the price even with the technical issues. Would definitely stay again.

Cheap and cheerful accommodation with an A+ location.

Hostel Victoria II is excellent. It's my family's second time staying here. The location is amazing - right on Puerta Del Sol and extremely close to the train station. The windows/doors help insulate the room from the street noise although at New Year's that's a little hard to do! The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms and building are very clean. I highly recommend Hostel Victoria II!

Excellent Hostel in a Great Location

Check-in was fine. After check-in we had to leave the building and walk some 30 meters to another building. Not a problem but a bit different to what I am used to. Room was small but clean with a comfortable bed. Bathroom small but modern. There was a small refrigerator there. The room is actually perfect if you just need to sleep there and want to enjoy Madrid. It's not a luxury hotel at all but fine for sleeping and a nice shower. Good wifi. Aircon and TV as well in the room.

Clean and cheap 

We stayed here for 1 night.  You do have to check in at Hostal Victoria 1 but it is literally a couple of minutes away from Hostal Victoria 2. This wasn’t a problem at all. The hotel is Old style but it’s perfectly fine it was very clean, yes it was small but we were only sleeping in the room didn’t spend hardly any time in there as was a shopping & sightseeing trip. Beds were really comfy and the room had central heating.  There was a fridge on the room, A safe and Toiletries.   It is Located right in the city surrounded by loads and loads of shops and places to eat and 5 mins to Gran Via.  It is right by the train station too. We had a room with balcony overlooking the square it’s so lovely at Christmas time as your looking right on to the Xmas tree. It was busy on the street but it didn’t keep us awake or bother us in the night we slept great. Yes you do have to ring a buzzer to get in the building and to get in to your landing but this is good the hotel is in an apartment block like many others so this is for security and to stop people who aren’t staying here getting in. There is CCTV to let you in when you ring the buzzer. Didn’t find this a problem at all and could always get in the hotel when pressing the buzzer.  Hotel had WI-FI too. Great all round hotel and amazing location. Would definitely stay here again. :)

Brilliant City Hotel

Stayed in the Hostal Victoria II for two nights, arriving on a Saturday. Room small but very clean and tidy with en-suite bathroom.  Great location for exploring the city, really central. Plenty of restaurants near by to suit all needs. 

It is in an area of the city that never sleeps, so don’t expect total peace and quite!

Generally excellent value for money. 

Long weekend in Madrid 

This hostal is very centrum location. Everything is near tourist bus stop, railway station, shops and restaurants. Room is small but everything you need is fitted nicely inside and it is good for staying few nights. You have even aircon and room is clean. I would recommend if you need place for fer nights.

Small clean room with very comfortable beds. Equipment is well maintained (AC, shower & private bathroom, TV, mattress) Great view on the square.

It is near a Plaza and their can be a lot of action outside.

Small clean and comfortable bed

Not a great place. It was clean but the reception is on another building. My building didn't have stairs and the staff were extremely impolite. 
The area is ok but that is all they have. To enter the building is extremely annoying for you have to ring several door bells before you can even get to your room.
Impolite staff in reception and very dark. Not recommended.

Not great place

This location is 24/7 crowd walk! Drunks all night! Very noisy, some hysterical laughter at 5 am!!! More to it, there are 2 cheap pizza holes on 1 floor, open 24/7, so all drunkards go there to have a piece. There was a street light next to my window and heavy metal curtain  to go with it. If you close it, it is a storage unit. Maids banging your door, even I called front desk and  ask not to. Roach came to die to my room from pizzeria. Good thing only one. Walls are very thin, you can hear words. Toiletries - just bring your own. TV have just Spanish channels,,,,,

Very noisy!

The location is amazing and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only thing I didn’t like was how they set up the buildings. It’s a bit confusing, especially when Hostal Victoria I and III are involved; and if you make a mistake the staff is a little impatient. Other than that, it’s great for a hostel.
