If you are going there for business trip and you have to work at night in your computer. It is not a good idea to be there. I was there whole week but wifi connection was very bad. I hope they install more routers in hostel. Room service is fantastic. It is at perfect location. Everything else was fantastic. 

Nice place to stay but....

Large twin room with good sized bathroom. Very clean. 
Great location close to galleries, museums, train station, restaurants.
Rooms overlooking the street have a balcony and better light but are noisy at night.
Fan but no a/c. Wifi signal weak.
It is a bit impersonal as there is no reception desk and the owner/manager speaks only Spanish so there is no tourist information possible. The rate we paid was excellent value.

Great location. Excellent value

The hostel and the room looked better on the photos than in the reality. The hostel is in an old building in a noisy street. Our room was in front of the front door so when other tourists arrived during the night, we heard them. The double bed was very week, we were afraid that it will break, it was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was small and dark. You could not sit on the toilet only if you turn a bit because the wall was very close to it. The house lady could not speak English at all so we had to explain everything slowly and imitating. Maybe for that price that is the level but I would choose another place next time. The neigbourhood was good, there were lots of restaurants and small supermarkets.

not the best

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this little gem of a hotel, we arrived at the hotel before the allocated check in time but we were able to check in as soon as we arrived. The room was a small double with a lovely balcony and a view over a quiet road. Unfortunately it rained most of the weekend but the owner gave us her umbrella to use and then on the last day told us to take it with us on our wet journey to the airport and dispose of it when we arrived. It may only be a little added extra but it's these extras that made our stay memorable. A great Little hotel close to all the main shops and eateries.

Fantastic stay

Cheap, clean as a pin, comfortable beds, quiet, and within minutes of the Prado. I kid you not. Without any Spanish we found communciation with the resident caretaker difficult. Mutual good will prevailed and all was well. Wifi is not strong (and we got the login info from a fellow traveller!) but nearby cafes have it. Ceiling fan noisy at higher speed, but fine on low speed. No aircon (but none needed the night we stayed). Second floor; no lift.
