The hotel is in the heart of Madrid, near everything, very clean with a private bathroom, the staff is friendly, and we enjoyed a lot to stay there. Before I arrived there, my wife sent a message to the owner, asking questions and he answered quickly. I recommend this Hotel.

Very good place

Considering the location, it’s a resonable price. I say this because the hostal is old and doesn’t have wifi. BUT I really enjoyed my 3 night stay because I got a room for myself with private bathroom and TV. The room was super clean and the staff was very nice. The bed was also really comfortable and the room very silent. Definetly would stay again. 

Good value for money

I stayed here while I was enjoying holiday in Spain. I arrived early around 7AM after long hours plane from Jakarta, Indonesia. And I just gambling to go to hostel at that early time in the morning. Out of my expectation, housekeeper of the hostel let me in even let me take a shower. It have been so grateful, and after put my things in the concierge I started my journey in Madrid. One more thing I've been grateful for, I stayed in the room with terrace so I got a very beautiful view for Gran Via and surrounding.

Valued Hostel

The Hostal Splendid is indeed splendid, with clean rooms with private bath, comfortable beds, beautiful old hard wood floors, friendly owners, reasonable price.  Building is an elegant old building on Gran Via.

Lovely old hostal in town center

Fairly inexpensive, with superb location. If you keep your window open you hear the traffic. Close it and turn AC on and there is no noise. Rooms were great and the staff extremely friendly. Willing to recommend or explain things about the city. Shops, restaurants, metro, all are close. Area is very safe.
