Humble nice friendly owner, that made me so welcome after my walk across Spain.
Basic but lovely a real genuine sanctuary in the middle of nowhere.
But the old man that runs this place is what makes it so thought provoking.
I was saddened by his humbleness.
Made me dinner in a wooden bowl with a wooden spoon Spanish bean stew was out of this world.
Bread water wine on the table.
Beautiful.

Camino Frances 2019. 

Hello. I was walking the Camino, I stopped over here for the night, the old man that runs this place is great his a traditional Spain person but very helpful and honest.
The food was outstanding.
Beds a bit basic but a good night sleep.


Camino Frances. 

Not far off the Camino in a relaxed environment.  Provided with bottom sheet and pillowcase. Good shower pressure (byo soap  shampoo etc).  Comfortable bed.  We were a group of 4 and ended up with 2 rooms - 1 with 2 single beds and z table with tea and coffee znd jug and the other with queen bed (we were all singles but weren't worried about sharing).  Host is actually quite lovely and provides a nice meal if you pay extra.  Good way to meet others on the trail.
We made sure to keep him informed via email that we still needed 4 beds and were on our way.  I had read reviews where people had booked and turned up to no bed.  This us because so many book (without pymt) and don't turn up and then the owner misses out on income.  It's a hard one.

Camino Stay

After walking 34k along the Camino de Santiago in rain and wind I arrived at this ghost town, after walking through the deserted town  I finally got to the old part of the village and Albergue Guadalupe, the lovely old man that welcomed me was an inspiration.
I was the only person to arrive there at the time and he showed me around, admittedly it was sparse  and a bit chilly but the lovely food he made me in a large wooden bowl and the welcome far outweighed that.His personal paintings adorned the walls of the albergue and made it a comfortable place to be.This old man lives here alone and makes every effort to make pilgrims comfortable he needs so much credit for that, what a life.

After 34k it was harmony.

Great guy! The dinner was heavy, plenty and delicious but the breakfast wasn't anything special. The house is a bit cold and there are no sheets on the beds. He was very helpful with getting a cap for our dad who had gotten sick.

Only few smiles but great hospitality 

Thoroughly enjoyed the one night stay as a perigrino at Albergue Virgen de Guadalupe. My wife and I were the only occupants of a 4 bed room, the toilets and showers were adequate and clean, the hospitalier was efficient and organised, and has us checked in quickly. He also cooked the evening meal, which was a very substantial and nourishing -just want a peregrino needed after a hard day's walking.

The owner can speak English but chooses not to. Stayed during a Camino and was told the rates were €10 for bed, €7 for dinner and €3 for breakfast, if you choose not to have meals the price was still €20. The rooms, mattresses, and blankets were damp, there was no heating and the "dinner" consisted of a soup/stew which I thought was a starter. Avoid like the plague.

Avoid

I've been in this albergue during the Camino to Santiago, but I just stopped because I was tired. I wish I never did it.
The ospitalero has tried to be nice, but failed. He only knows spanish I think, so I had to translate from spanosh to english for the other pilgrims. For the meal I asked for some simple white rice (I wanted to eat simple and have some allergies, thing I told him before cooking), and he cooked things I could not eat.
The rooms are little, made by 4 beds (I only saw mine), but there are no sheets and the beds are sneeking and unconfortable.
