We went with our little dog and were surprised with a drink in the dining room, a whole detail.The girls at the reception (the blonde girl from the morning shift, and Xenia from the night shift) are charming.They are attentive, friendly and make the stay more enjoyable.The food is quite good.The only sticker is the mattress.

Beware of reservations, at Booking they announce that pets can enter for free and upon arrival there they charge 13 euros per pet and night!! That is, in the booking contract you agree to one thing and upon arrival there they appear with a supplement (at least 13, but I suppose that whatever happens to them) and they obligate you to pay for it.

The surroundings, the beautiful location, the hotel, or the country house, left me with a bad taste in my mouth, too. We chose a room with a half-board, after reading and seeing the beautiful photos of the store/information point, and a bar restaurant, which is a beautiful restored cave...with a lot of charm. The room unfortunately for us, was small and old and no rustic....old furniture.. but this is the least.. the bed apart from the small size, my couple is large, 1.89, slept with the feet hanging, the mattress we appreciate when we get to its correct size...but I'm smaller and with my mattress on top of a wooden mattress.

Precious external environment, internal I can give no more than 4.5 out of 10.

We had a perfect weekend, quiet, beautiful views, comfortable stay and everything to our liking, it was a total rest as we would say, and we also visited the castle in the same village.

It's been a great weekend.

We spent two nights in the bathroom with a hot tub and the stay was unbeatable, the quality/price ratio is very good and the staff treatment has been spectacular, always at our disposal.

The perfect corner to disconnect from the world.

We had never been to Montsonís, we loved the place, what a pity we didn't discover it sooner! The cozy accommodation and the excellent treatment of the staff.

We pay for a suite, at a high price and that's minimum to expect the minimum services such as soap in the bathroom, toothbrush, pasta... For 85 euros a night I think it's the minimum to ask for (if you ask for soap but not with a nice face). But that's not the main problem, and it's that there's NO WIFI. On days like today a hotel without wifi is obsolete. But it's that the website also confirms that there's wifi, a lie I could tell with noticeable consequences.

 Disappointing.

We spent two days/one night in Motsonis visiting the castle and enjoying the countryside. However, we were extremely dissapointed by this hotel/restaurant.

Positive:
Good location, the village is probably one of the prettiest in the region
The room is relatively clean.

Negatives:
The room was part of the upper floor of a restored house. The walls aren't soundproof and we could hear our neighbours ( snoring, bathroom noises, chatting). The snoring was so loud and distracting that we couldn't sleep.
The bed is terrible: it is very small, the matress and bed frame are of bad quality, the bed frame was very squeeky, and the linen and blankets are very used and not soft at all. No duvet or additional blankets.
The bathroom is miserable, the towels are very used and there was no shampoo or shower gel.
No tv in the room and the wifi is schetchy
There is heating but it wasn't on (mid-april can be cold at night).

The top floor is nice but you may be seated at the basement which isn't nice at all.

Very rude and not customer oriented at all.

We ended up leaving at 1:30am in the morning as it was impossible to sleep because of the noise/snoring coming from our neighbouring room. The reception was closed so we didn't have a chance to pay for our dinner and room so I sent an email explaining the problem and asking the hotel to send me an invoice and a bank account for the money transfer.

In the morning I received a call from a very pissed off receptionist claiming that we tried to run away without paying for dinner amd speaking to me in an extremely aggressive and rude manner without even asking why. When I explained the situation she showed no understanding and blamed the other customer for snoring saying that there is nothing she can do about it and that we should have stayed until the morning to pay!! She very sarcastically asked me if a similar situation happened at a hairdressers and I wasn't happy with my haircut whether I would leave without paying to which I very politely replied that it has happened to me and that the hairdresser did her best to sort out the haircut. She was totally rude to me and moking me when I spelled out my email. She insisted on just passing a bank account over the phone and me transfering the outstanding balance rather than doing things the official way and sending us a receipt via email. She said it's a hassle sending an email and made up some excuse.

I very rarely write bad reviews and I understand that such things happen but I am extremely dissapointed by how this was handled and the way I was treated. We had to drive for two hours in the middle of the night in order to get back home and on the top of that we were treated in the worst possible way.

I don't recommend staying in this place ( at least if you are after a good nights sleep), it is worth visiting montsonis but there are better places for dinner and sleep nearby.
If you stay there bring earplugs just in case.


Rude staff, awful room, average food

Perched on a mountainside lost in Spain as you exit from the Pyrenees, this comfortable small b 'n b is worth the trip. We arrived on bicycles and even the stiff uphill pedal didn't daunt our arrival. The folks at the reception spoke English and French, which helps with our minimal Spanish. Our room is large with a balcony that overlooks the mountains and valley. It's equipped with a kitchen and sitting room. The bodega restaurant is just below on street level. Don't miss this one if you are nearby!
