This is more hostel than hotel, but the rooms are a good size with ensuite facilities and spotlessly clean. We were pleased to rest here after a long days walking. We had breakfast in the bar next door. This is simple, plain accommodation and for what it is very good. There are several flights of stairs up which can be a challenge with heavy luggage.  The gentleman who i took to be the owner is a very nice chap, president of the local football club in fact.

Simple and unsophisticated

We stayed here for a couple of nights in September and requested (successfully!) room 36 when we booked. What a view! Overlooking the harbour in this pretty fishing village with high ceilings and loads of natural light. Tastefully furnished and spotelessly clean. This is a simple operation - no frills, no breakfast, just a place to stay If I have any small moan, it would be that the quality of the bed and and the bed linen didn't match up to the rest of the experience. However, this is a small moan. You won't often wake up to a view like this.

Unbeatable views, ask for room 36!

Room 36 - A spectacular penthouse apartment in an unspectacular building. A door from the street leads you up the stairs (no lift) past the lawyers offices up two more floors to the Ria de Muros pension. 
A comfortable selection of rooms fitted into the roof, I can’t comment on other rooms but Room 36 is a hidden gem. A light airy apartment with windows offering panoramic views to the harbour,  sea and mountains. The two small balconies leading off the bedroom allow an even better birdseye view to watch the world go by.

Initially booked in for one night, like the previous reviewer we extended our stay as its such a relaxing place to be.  Muros itself has lots of restaurants around the harbour and only a small beach, however a couple miles around the coast you’ll find large sandy beaches with booming surf.

Spectacular penthouse room with panoramic views

There aren't many places to stay in Muros and we stumbled on the Ria de Muros by accident, blink and you'll miss it.  As the friendly owner opened the door to show us the room (number 36), my jaw nearly hit the floor!  What a lovely room - for 45 euros (mid season).  We were only going to stay one night - but stayed two.  We would have stayed longer but unfortunately a three day festival started on our second night and the noise of the fair and the concert booming through my skull until 5.30am nearly made me insane.  In hindsight, if we'd known, we would have done what the Spanish do and slept all afternoon and stayed up all night.   This is a shame, as the pension was great - clean, central, comfortable with two private balconies!  

Muros is a pretty place to rest and there are lots of lovely beaches and sites nearby.  I would like to take  the opportunity here to tell you that the gentleman in the Tourist Information office was absolutely dreadful.  We must apologise for disturbing his rest and for our inconvenient request for maps and information.  I'd like to suggest to this young chap that it would have been useful to have known about the festival that was about to start and perhaps tell us about it.  Finally, if he hates working in tourism that much, maybe he should look for another career.
