A group of us stayed with young families and had a lovely time - the cabanas were well set up and very comfortable.  The bar/restaurant was good and the setting very relaxing.  The let down was the set up at the pool.  Firstly, the kid's pool was cracked and had to be drained and we couldn't use it for the last couple of days but these things happen.  The key problem was the loud pounding music that was played while the pool was open... why???  The locals seemed used to it, but even on the occasions when I was there with only my 2 year old son, a DJ smashed out the Europop as though he were entertaining 20-somethings on a beach on Mallorca... The only downer on what is a great place to have a few days a few hours outside of Madrid.

Nice place... pool atmosphere let it down

We spent Easter Week at this campsite and had a great time. When we arrived there was nobody about but a number on the gate. We called and they said to let ourselves in and they would see us in two days. Hmmm...Ok, we like informal. So we did and found ourselves a spot. 

The camping is on a bit of a slope so we set up at the bottom where the slope was least noticeable. Campervans, bring levellers. The campsite is only 3 years old and it shows in that the trees are fairly young and don't give shade to most pitches. Those near the bottom are shadiest. A lot of the pitches seem to have a lot of stones and are a bit rough but then a lot of people bring blow up beds now. Still though, slope and stones don't make great bedfellows. The toilets and facilities were fine. The hot water ran out one evening but seemed to be there all the rest of the time. The toilets and showers were good, just bring toilet paper, as you would to many campsites.

We were there with only very few other people in the site and the bar and restaurant were closed for most of the week. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment on that and the shop had basic necessities when it opened. The people were also very friendly and polite.

The campsite is next to Navas de Estena which has some nice wee bars and places to eat and it is an easy trip to the village walking or by bike. The Ruta del Boqueron de Estena starts just outside the campsite and is a marvellous walk and there are other easy routes to do also. 

Location-wise, this campsite is fantastic. Perfect almost. It should be a great campsite in a few years when it is more "mature". We'll definitely be back.
