I travelled to Spain with my sister so she could visit our sick mother who lived nearby. I contacted the hostel prior to booking to let them know our anticipated arrival time, which they agreed to. On the day, our flight was delayed, which again I communicated to them and they again said it was OK. When we arrived, the owners were leaving and locking the door. We apoligised for being late and asked to be shown to our room, to which they said that there was no room available - they had rented it to someone else!!! Disgusting behaviour - leaving two females alone to sleep on the street (we tried other hostels/hotels, but as it was peak summer season there was nothing available in town - the nearest available room was in a hotel in the mountains).
We contacted booking.com that we had booked through, but got no reply.
The icing on the cake was receiving a 'charge' for not arriving!! We had arrived, we tried to check in, and we were physically prevented from checking in and using the room we had booked and paid for by the owners. 
No apology, and an unnecessarily stressful start to a trip to say goodbye to our dying mother. 

Absolute disgrace - left us to sleep on the street!!

Been in Nerja many times. This is the only place I would go back to and this is my first full day. Great location, lovely room, great shower. So happy to be here for four weeks. Solo traveller, don’t like resort hotels. This is perfect.

Excellent 

Arrived at 10pm, door was locked. We needed to call a number on the door..we were left standing on the street until  someone arrived 15 minutes later to check us in. On checking in, they advised they don’t accept card! We had to walk to a local ATM to take cash out. Room was awful with shabby furniture. We were woken several times in the night with people slamming doors and having the loudest s*x you you could imagine. Felt like I was sleeping in a brothel. Avoid avoid avoid!

Avoid like the plague

Well... I really don't know what to say about this place. Apparently it's OK... nothing special, but cheap and cozy... it has anything you'd need... BUT... probably the lady who did the cleaning in our room didn't feel like working that day as the floor of our room was filthy and so it was the sheet. I add some pics jus in order to show the crumbs that were everywhere. I wouldn't suggest it as I really felt upset with the bad cleaning. Furthermore... the receptionist I must say that has a very old-style way to do his job... I mean, we booked trough booking and usually (anytime in my whole life) none claimed the reservation PAPER... once I give my reservation number and my passport it's OK... it's how it works! Who goes around with papers?! By the way... the real problem was the dirty in the room. I don't recommend it. 

Simple, nice but our room was filthy! 

It was good value for what we needed, the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.  The room provides a fridge, kettle and a microwave.  A good idea to take cups if you want to make a morning coffee.  The location is good, each room has a little balcony and provides two chairs so that you can sit out.  There is a roof terrace with tables and chairs, from which you can view the mountains.  The air conditioning is also very effective.  I would go there again.  I slept like a log, but my husband said it was rather noisy.

This Hostal was in a great location, just 5 min walk to Balcon Europa and all the shops, bars and restaurants. Friendly staff. Room was clean and very confy, with private bathroom and nice powerful shower. Wifi was a bonus. Nice little roof top terrace to sit and look out over the square.

Great One Night Stay

This Hostel is very close to the bus station and within an easy walk to everything. Our double ensuite room on the top floor was equipped with small fridge, kettle and microwave - added bonus! The room was spotlessly clean and staff very friendly. Walls a bit thin but we would definitely return....
