We left during one of the stages of the Camino de Santiago. We booked this accommodation that was very well painted, nothing to do with reality. Owners somewhat disagreeable, room cutre, the ridiculous shower. Location, in the middle of nowhere. They had a party with other guests and seemed to be inside the room. We couldn't sleep until 1 in the morning, considering that we would get up at 6 to start the road, not rest. They sell something chic and charming that doesn't match reality.

It's not what's advertised.

We were very friendly, very friendly staff and a nice room (though a little disturbing: inside the room is preserved an old oven that gives it a bit of a rare ambiance.... although I understand that this comment is personal and that there will be people who will love it) No complaints.

Very nice house.

We spent more than a week as pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago and all the country houses and hotels we stayed in this was the one that left us most wanting. First of all, the staff, by contrast, was the least kind of everyone. We responded very poorly to requests or questions we asked them. Then the dinner was not very good, not only no other place to choose but a friend got sick in her stomach and could not eat well the next day. The rooms were not bad, it was just a little cold but in summer was no problem. To return to the area I would definitely not stay in Casa Calvo again.

There is no return.

Off Camino but they pick you up when you call and drop off the next morning.  Dinner was good and included wine - lovely salad and a dish of Sena, which are wild mushrooms, which was an extra treat. This Casa offers a little choice for dinner rather than just a preordained meal. Wife speaks a little English and seems keen to add to that.  More professional than some places and better organized. Credit cards accepted and wifi worked fine.  We were very cold as no heat at night but looked like when busy they have a walk in fireplace In a corner and a nice lounge area and dining room.  Recommend this place.  Beds comfortable, bathroom had a bath, lots of hot water, rooms spacious and hosts were warm and welcoming. Breakfast seemed rather sparse so we did not have it, just coffee.  Everywhere on Camino the concept of free tea.coffee is not there but prices are so low that one cannot complain. Just be prepared to be charged.

Rural, good value

Super nice place in the midden of now where. I stayed there for one night. The rooms are in traditional spanish style with love to detailed decorated. The staff is so nice and you feel welcomed. Bathrooms are very good. At night you can ask for dinner, wicht is very good.

Cosy hostel with the charm of the past

Quirky and nice spot to stay. Had to be picked up as its not actually on the Northern Way. Isolated spot so if you want something to eat be wary as only breakfast & dinner served...no.lunch if you arrive in afternoon. Big fire lit in living area which was really cosy & welcoming. No choice at dinner but food was ok. We were made feel welcome & while owner had very little English we managed to communicate & she was very helpful. Rooms were Spanish style, big beams...loved them. Beds very comfy.

Camino Stopover

As is often the case in these places, the owners and staff who work in the country houses are excellent people. but I think I should write down the shortcomings I found despite having very good things like picking you up from the road and the place is beautiful. I started with the room that was wide but had no windows. The breakfast had nothing homemade, which is perhaps what you are looking for in a country house and dinner except the ribs that were very good the rest was nothing remarkable.

Lo mejor los dueños is the best of the best.

Not on Camino route but free shuttle provided from Pedrouzo/O Pino, 10 min drive.
Very attractive room in rural rustic style with huge bright ensuite. Double and single bed in large room but dark as only a  roof window. Toiletries provided. Linen fresh and crisp, towels also. All very clean. 
Courtyard outside room was lovely to relax in while having a vino and waiting for dinner. 
No wifi in rooms only near reception which is not as advertised.
Family run, very friendly and approachable, no English but good communication nevertheless!
 Dinner provided, home cooking but very tasty, salad, pork ribs and ice cream. Able to make my own breakfast but this was very unusual. My companions had the breakfast provided, toast, sweet cake and cereal with fresh juice, tea and coffee but was poor value at €8.00 
Again buy supplies needed for next day if on Camino as shops not open early.

Not on Camino route. Rustic and very charming, clean, relatively expensive but very friendly

I recommend Casa Calvo for cordiality, clean rooms and simple but tastefully furnished, excellent cuisine.

After 25 Km, welcome and friendly.

The positives are that the staff will pick you up in town and drop you off at the trail and the room was clean.  The downside is that the inn doesn't serve lunch or dinner and there are no restaurants around the inn.  As they told me on the phone, they are only for sleeping and breakfast.  It is a very light continental breakfast.
