The house is not easy to find as it is in a quiet area near Las Caldas and you can reach it only by a really narrow street. It's an old country house with a big garden outside that probably needs some maintenance works.
The room was nice, clean and with a beautiful view on the garden and on the countryside. The breakfast, served in the dining room downstairs, was simply fantastic: cold cuts and cheese from the area and great jams prepared by the owner (a very nice and helpful woman) with the fruits of her garden.
We choose this rural hotel because we'd like to stay in a quiet place but in the 2 nights we were there we were unlucky because there was a sort of a party in the village and we could hear the music until 1 o' clock in the morning. In addition, one of the other guests had a dog that barked every time it heard something or someone moving in the house and her owner always screamed at it trying in vain to shut up it. So we had been waken up a lot of time during the night and very early each morning. 
No problems in having pets in the hotel (we love them!) but if they annoy the other guests, I think that the issue should be managed by the hotel.

Relaxing place... if the other guests are not rude!

Las Caldas is on the outskirts of Oviedo, no more than 15 minutes by car away.  Las Caldas has a large hotel with some fine eating around it , but a kilometre up the hill in a tiny village is La Casona, a gorgeous older home with a large , rambling garden, perfect for a couple of days of getting away from things.

The rooms are clean and large enough, and the breakfast substantial enough to get  2 enthusiastic cyclists through the day. What really shone through , though, was the preparedness of our host to look after her guests. Despite language limitations - my Spanish is shocking ! - she quickly worked out my mate Gary's love of buttered toast, was happy to do some laundry for us and, most importantly, when we managed to leave some property, went to great lengths to contact us via Internet and phone (using an English speaking friend) and even contacted our next accomodation for us. Enormously impressive.

Everything about La Casona was top notch. The setting is gorgeous. Owner is quite the gardner and has many fruit trees on the property so if you are interested in gardening, your visit will be even more interesting. Upon request, she will prepare meals for you. We needed to go to the store, which was in the next town so she had us follow her all the way. One of our group was glucose intolerant so she purchased special bread for toast in the morning.
