I have stayed here many times before due to the convenient central location of the hotel. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and they are serviced daily. You get a private balcony overlooking the shaded courtyard. Plenty of water pressure gives a good shower and the beds are comfortable. The Wifi is excellent. A basic breakfast is provided with a selection of foods. There is also a courtyard bar and a vending machine. Parking is also available should you have a hire car. Carmen and her son George are friendly & enthusiastic hosts and always seem to be available to help and provide advice and assistance. English, French & German is spoken along with Catalan so no language issues. Thoroughly recommended.

Great budget hotel in a grand setting.

Hostal Plaja is very centrally located in a charming building. I was very warmly welcomed. The hostess is ever so nice and helpfull. The location perfect. Rooms simple but very clean. Nice breakfast.Very good quality for your money. I will certainly come back. 

Lovely place to stay

Beautiful building and stunning courtyard, very friendly and welcoming owner - lovely surroundings, just off the main square- will definitely go again! Quiet and secluded and peaceful place to sit and relax in.

Secret Hideaway

The Hotel playa is located in the middle of town and on walking distance (100 meter) to the central square.. Still its a quiet place and rooms are basic but clean and beds are good and the shower is warm. Carmen is a good host and very friendly taking care of you.
So all in all we can recommend you this place.

A perfect stay for a reasonable price

This is a great wee place for the independent budget traveller. Very impressive portico and hallway of what would be a listed building in UK. The establishment has, according to the owner Carmen, been welcoming guests for 50 years. Obviously if we were to actually stay in rooms in the original building we would be paying a lot more than the 40 or so euros which is the nightly rate. The accomodation is in a purpose built block housing some 16 rooms on 2 floors. Carmen and her son give a warm welcome and Carmen was v helpful when I had to deal with a banking glitch. She speaks both French and English and is the perfect owner of an establishment that I hope to revisit.

Genuine hospitality

Lovely period building, which used to be a grand family home.
Very friendly welcome from the owner. Rooms basic, but very clean. Our room had a balcony overlooking the court yard, which was nice and cool in the evenings. Good wi-fi in the rooms. Nice breakfast.

The hotel is one minute from the town, ten minute bus journey to the coast - Calella or Llanfranc.

Bargain!

Lovely, good value hotel.

The hostal is part of a grand house in the middle of town. The owner proudly showed us the house which is her family home. The rooms are neat and are cleaned each day. Carmen was extremely welcoming, offered us free parking in her garage and gave us good tips for local trips. A very good introduction to Catalanya.

A nice surprise in Catalanya

Stayed here a week ago with friends. Carmen the owner is fantastic and takes good care of her guests. English is spoken. The rooms are basic but clean, the breakfast plentiful, the location is central but quiet and has a large private courtyard onto which the balcony rooms look out. Very reasonable room rates and parking available. Free wifi to which was fast. Recommended.
