Beautiful place, quiet excellent to disconnect, the apartments are clean and very well kept all the essentials you need. The gardens are very well kept. The restaurant is walking distance just outside the complex the food was amazing. The people are friendly and very helpful looking forward to coming again.

Excellent getaway

Stayed here for a week on an RCI exchange ,we loved it but a week is probably long enough as it really is in the middle of nowhere ! Sandra on reception and all the staff are very welcoming and helpful and the whole resort is very well maintained.Our two storey apartment was clean and well cared for,although some people might not manage the spiral staircase very well.
They run three free guided walks during the week which are great fun. You meet up in the car park in front and go off in a convoy in your own cars, to various local beauty spots . Edu the guide is excellent and speaks good English so we understood what was going on.
Pozo Alcon,the nearest village has a good Dia supermarket and a bread man calls at nine every morning at the resort,just listen for the hooter !
The only downside is we didn't have a good experience with their restaurant K5 and K6 up the road wasn't much better,but you can't win them all.

Rural retreat

We stayed here as a timeshare exchange week. We were not sure what to expect, even with previous reviews. We are thrilled we made the choice to stay here with another couple. The apartments are comfortable and clean. The complex has facilities to barbecue but we mostly ate out in the evenings. We enjoyed breakfasts out on the patio of our apartment. The area the apartments is located in is fantastic. We had not managed to gather much information ahead of our stay but between the information supplied by the manager and what we were willing to explore on our own, we found a lot and know we could spend another week or two here without running of of things to do. We alternated between nature (hiking, taking walks in nature, kayaking) and taking short trips to the fascinating towns in this quiet corner of Spain (such as Ubeda and Baza, both about 45 minutes away). A highlight was a drive to "La Cueva del Agua" - inadvertently we took the winding mountain road to get there rather than a milder climbing route, but it was spectacular. We ate several meals at the restaurant attached to the resort and they were quite good. We also ate at the "kilometer 6" restaurant one kilometer down the road way from the small town of Pozo Alcon, and it was delicious. We made multiple visits to the Dia supermarket in Pozo Alcon. The staff here is very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. It definitely helps to have some ability to speak Spanish. The pool area was very nice. We have only a few small complaints. There was not enough light in the apartment to our taste. And the Internet, while free, is fairly unreliable. We would definitely come back though - a truly relaxing vacation.

A wonderful place for a quiet but active vacation

Club Ibipozo is a very different sort of resort.  It is small, the local town is never likely to be a tourist trap and it is small.  If this interests you read on, otherwise stick to mega resorts in sight of the sea.

This is a place for a quieter holiday but does have a lot to offer.  Getting here without a car would be expensive as it is quite a way from anywhere.  Equally to get groceries, to have access to a wider range of restaurants and bars, to visit the local sights and those farther afield a car is vital.

Finding the resort is not difficult but if you want to explore further afield a SatNav is vital as is a bit of research into car parks in towns to avoid getting stuck in narrow streets.

There are plenty of walks, Miradors and interesting natural sights to see.  The local town has THREE supermarkets and the Mas Y Mas is just being upgraded.

Furthest return trip we did was to the coast near Garrucha and inland to Ubeda.  Scenery varies so much from semi desert, to mountain with views of the snow on the Sierra Nevada.  Sandra will tell you of a number of very local places to discover most of which do not require you to pack your hiking boots.

TV is Spanish only but plenty of SPort (including the Bullfighting equivalent of Match of the Day).  So bring books, a pack of cards and something to amuse the children (if you have them),  There is a games room and minin golf plus the unheated outdoor pool.

A car is essential!

Quiet lovely place with friendly staff. Lovely scenery just few hundred metres in backyard threw olive field. Will come again! If you like hiking- just a place for you! KM6 restaurant 1 km ahead- very good steaks!

Pleasant small isolated resort with chalets around a nice pool (bar for drinks and ices). Nearest small town 5km. Nearest and only close restaurant 1km, Close to the big outdoors for hiking etc. Granada and Cordoba possible for a day trip, although better to combine with an overnight stay. Car a must.
