What a lovely find tucked away on a hillside above the sea just outside of San-Sebastián. We booked an apartment with terrace. The bed was so comfortable and arriving in January after a long drive it was the perfect place to unwind. The room was lovely and warm and the kitchen had everything we needed to self cater. We received a warm welcome and so did our dog. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we felt safe in the current climate.  It has the perfect grounds if you are travelling with a dog there is lots to explore. The shower in the morning was brilliant and breakfast exceeded expectations! Thank you and we will definitely return.

A perfect place to stop en-route to Portugal

I probably would of liked it, but didn't got the chance to experience it. Due to an unfortunate situation, I was not able to fulfill my booking, and the management of the property didn't show any understanding and completely refused to reschedule our booking for several days in advance. They got there money, but I don't think that this is the way to earn a living!

Very non understanding management!

A wonderful apartment in a great setting.  A place to get away from it all and be at one with nature.  Mezzanine bedroom, good lounge and okay kitchen.  There are no shops nearby so take everything you need. Good parking and easy to find 0 about 10km from town, some narrow roads.  Owners very helpful and speak English

Off the beaten track

Beautiful apartments in a tranquil setting with modern facilities, a perfect place to escape from everything. Situated about 10 mins drive from the city once you are familiar with the roads but the first drive may take or seem longer!! The road rises high above the city offering fantastic views for passengers, the driver will need to stop to enjoy the same as serious bends follow one after the other.
The owner is very friendly, has good English and loves to talk. The apartments are well appointed with large comfortable beds, great shower and to my joy a decent hair dryer!  
Perhaps a small offering of one or two basics in the fridge would be a nice gesture as there is absolutely nothing nearby. Either come prepared with a few provisions or arrive early enough to  visit a supermarket  to have supplies for breakfast or a cup of tea/coffee in the morning. 

The grounds of Mar y Mar are absolutely beautiful and no doubt are different each season depending on what  plants are in bloom. Birdsong fills the air and there is a wonderful sense of nature.

Far away from the crowd

The ride up to mar y mar is already a beautiful scenery, the place itself is great, a friendly owner and helpful in every way. The place makes you wanna move to San Sebastián soon! Only 15 minutes out of the city, yet the feeling of being in a totally different place. Only remark is the noisy ness of the apartment we were in. You can hear the neighbours quite well, but I think we were just a bit unfortunate with the neighbours ;)

Best location, friendly owner, fine apartments though a bit noisy

We just loved this place, after 4 weeks on the road, ancient cities and central hotels, we were a bit over the hotel experience. This place, so easy to get to by car ( you will need a good map or GPS) or by bus if you are familiar with the buses in San Sebastian, (but a fair walk after that...wouldn't do it with cases.) It's situated on the high cliffs above San Sebastian, close by a brilliant 3 star Michellin restaurant. Its quiet, peaceful, with beautifully appointed boutique but modern, purpose built self catering mini apartments.
A tranquil little break from incessant touring. fabulously helpful hosts. I wouldnt stay anywhere else again if (when ) I go back to San Sebastian.

peaceful respite from the tourist fray!

We stayed at mar y mar agroturismo in September 2013.
Our flat (a duplex) was really great, everything was new, modern and very functional. The kitchen was well equipped and the shower was huge! 
The house is located on a hill with a great view and is surrounded by nature. The house is not far from San Sebastián, but since it is a bit lost in the nature, I think that a car is necessary.
We had a nice stay and really recommend it!
