Chances are you're going to Segovia mainly to see the aqueduct, so this hostel is perfect if you want location, good price and a peaceful rest. We even had a partial view of the aqueduct from our window. The room was warm and spacious. Many restaurants, cafes and stores close by, but it was quiet at night. Walking distance to all the sights. There's no one there before check-in time, which starts at 2:30 pm, but if you call them, they will come and store your bags.

The hostal is situated in the centre of Segovia, the famous Roman Acueducto just behind the corner. Though it is in the centre, nights are quiet there. The central info and bus station are near, possibility of dinnig too. The tour along the whole Acueducto is highly recommendable, because the bridge ends on the street level and in the middle there is the technically interesting settling tank/tower. Great ! Stones for construction were certainly taken from planes around the city, which is visible from the road from S. to the south.
Alcazár de Segovia is the remarkable castle, reconstructed, with the nice view to the surroundings of the town and to the gothic cathedral, which is really worth seeing too.
It is not without interest that Segovia like the strategically important residence is not visible until the last moment when arriving at the city from Madrid except the cathedral.
You should have the whole day for the visit of this interesting town.
Local pubs, coffe, food, shops are pleasant and different compared to Madrid.

Segovia is about 1-1,5h from Madrid and is easily reachable by cheap local buses.

Tourist attractions and accomodation in Segovia

I booked two nights at this hostal in the late of July and due to some circumstances I sent a mail to the them and asked if they could change my booking to the beginning of August. They have now, after two weeks,  answered in a short and unpersonal way that they can't help me. 
This means that they want me to pay for the two nights i July and then also pay for the other two nights i August. Don´t support this hostal, there are other nearby where you can change your booking without having to pay.

Booking service, be careful

I am so glad I found this Hostal!  We parked near the Hostal in the underground parking lot- walked right under the aqueduct and took the first street and Voila! there was Hostal Segovia. We rang the bell for service and the lady working at the Western Union office next door must do double duty because she came out and showed us to our room. It was very clean and had balcony views of the street level. The bathroom was modern and had been updated. After dropping off our luggage we headed out to explore the town- it was simply amazing! We found ourselves wishing we had planned to stay longer than one night in Segovia!

PERFECT!

We stayed for one night and got a room with a balcony looking down onto the street with the aqueduct in sight. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, with a big wardrobe and a modern bathroom with a good shower.

The downside was that there's not a full-time reception and the person who answered the buzzer didn't speak English - we totally accept that we don't speak Spanish, but it did make it a bit more difficult to convey that we had a booking and be let up. However, the man running the hostal was perfectly helpful and we were able to leave our rucksacks in the office area until our room was ready.

It's worth noting there were a lot of stairs and no lift, so it would be worth asking for a first-floor room if you struggle with stairs.

The location was perfect for seeing Segovia (everything within walking distance) and also for getting out on to the main road for access to and from the city.

I was able to drop my suitcase off prior to check-in, and the room was ready when I returned.  It was on the second floor (no elevator).  A lovely, welcoming room with a balcony and view of the Aqueduct, and a clean bathroom, also with a view of the Aqueduct.  Segovia was freezing (and wet!) but my room was lovely and warm.  The shower was nice and hot, but there was not a lot of space between the shower and the toilet.  Internet was fantastic.  I was also able to leave my suitcase after checkout.  Service was wonderful, despite the host having no English and me having no Spanish.  Fantastic location, excellent value for money and highly recommended.
