This was my second experience in this hotel and I loved again! The place is very caracteristic, quiet, with a big terrace with view over the old city. The owners are very kind and at our disposal at any time, we arrived at 1.30 am. The ar conditioned in the rooms has an extra charge , but it worths, especially in August. Strongly recomend!

Central and familiar

We didn't book this place, but were taken there by the host at nearby Pension Vergara, after a booking fell through. (We had booked the latter via BookingADN but were told upon arrival that the pension  was no longer working with that website so our booking had not gone through. The pension Vergara did seem to know how long we had booked in for, though, so it's obviously some kind of scam where they just try to get guests into their much less popular Bienvenido hostal). Bienvenido is apparently a 'sister' hostel of Vergara. 

Sadly, it was not what we expected and, had we stayed there, it would have made for a very depressing trip. Yes, it is in a great area (Santa Cruz) and it is cheap. But honestly, I would only advise that you go here if you literally just want a place to crash and do not care at all about the room you stay in. The bathrooms are mostly shared - and the ones we walked past when being shown to our room had floors covered in toilet paper. Apparently there are rooms that have an ensuite, but we did not stick around to look at them. We had seen enough just upon entering the place and walking up the stairs. 

The room itself was a tiny box, with noting in it but a bed and a bidet in the corner (yes, strange. No loo, but a bidet). It is run down, and just does not feel like a place where you would want to spend any time at all. I should point out that I'm not a snob when it comes to travelling - in fact I'd much rather stay in a low cost place that's a bit rough around the edges, than some fancy hotel. But this was on another level. 

As soon as we were in the room, we got online on our phones and booked somewhere different. Yes, we had to pay a bit more, but honestly we just were not willing to stay at Bienvenido, no matter how cheap or how central. The manager seemed surprised when I told him that we were leaving, and asked what the problem was. I was so stressed and fed up at this point that my Spanish wasn't coming to me easily and I just muttered something about it being 'too small and not what we were expecting'. I wish I could have found the vocab to say 'prison cell'. 

I don't really like writing bad reviews, and most times I write reviews on here they are really positive. But I feel like people should know the reality of this place. It is in a great location, and the owners should really do a lot more with it. It is telling that there are always rooms free here. Seville is a beautiful city, and it is an amazing place to visit and spend some time. My advice would be to pay an extra 20 euros to avoid such a depressing place as this.

Good location - that's all

Another great stay in the Pension Bienvenido. The owners have recently undertaken some redecoration work and replaced the bathrooms.  As before, the location, in the heart of old Seville, was perfect for sightseeing and visiting friends. Amazing roof terrace with views over the city, including the Giralda. Unbelievable! I will definitely stay at the Bienvenido whenever I am back in Seville. I cannot fault it!

Excellent!

We stayed at the Bienvenido after about 800 km with our bikes (Camino de Santiago).
The room was clean, beds are comfortable, the owner (?) and the staff is very friendly and helpful, we had a good and safe place for our bikes, but...
... our room was on the "wrong" side of the house, I presume. 
The "Calle" was very noisy, we had big problems to sleep during this two nights. 
Sleeping on the road will have the same effect.

When you need a rest - let it be.

This was not my first stay at the Bienvenido, but it will not be my last.  Central, clean, friendly and very good value, it maintains its high standards year in year out.  The rooms are charming and quaint and the staff cannot do enough for you.  It is spotlessly clean and a nice and cool place to return to after a sweltering day exploring Seville.  The hostal is located very centrally and right next to other hostals, some of which I have also stayed in over the years.  I always now come back to the Bienvenido for the reasons outlined in this review.  Check out the roof terrace with the fabuloud views of the Giralda (cathedral tower) - some of the single rooms are up there on the roof, but anybody who is staying there can go up and relax.  We bought in beer and crisps - it was lovely.  I have no problem with recommending the Bienvenido - it is GREAT!!
