We stayed here for 4 nights and found the place to be very good. For just the 2 of us it was perhaps way too big (we didn't use the entire upstairs) but prefer self catering when staying somewhere for more than a couple of nights. The location is good, very near the centre of the village but still was quiet and remote. Well equipped for an apartment and good value overall

We had a wonderful stay in these beautiful apartments while in the area bear watching and exploring the magnificent scenery.

The apartments (infact they are more like a house!) are located through the village, on the small road to Valle de Lago. They are less than a 5 minute walk from the center of this beautiful small village. The apartments seem very new, and everything inside is spotless and decorated to a very high standard. They apartments come fully equipped with everything you could need, including full cooking equipment and a very nice cooker and oven. One thing I noted was that instead of your normal mis-match of cooking utensils, everything matched and was not the cheap stuff you'd expect to find. Infact even the wine glasses were nicer than mine at home!! There is also a real log fire for the winter months.

As mentioned the apartments are fully equipped for cooking, and there are a few small shops in the village (one is just before the apartments on your left) which stock everything you need foodwise. However if you want o eat out then there are several restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

Our apartment had 3 very large double bedrooms, all ensuite. One of the bedrooms was located on the ground floor which was ideal for my Mom, as the stairs to next floor were a little steep. Outside there is ample parking, and a picnic area with the a stream running through it. The whole garden was alive with flowers while we were there.

There is also a small porch area which is gated off and this came in very handy for making sure our dog didn't wander off! On this note our dog was very welcomed by the owner who had his own rescue dog.

The owner couldn't have been nicer, and we received a very warm welcome the minute we arrived. Nothing was too much of a problem, and he brought us books of the area for us to read, and helped answer any questions we had. He also gave us local sidre to take with us when we left. He also showed us a small museum attached to the complex which he has lovingly collated, and is well worth a look round.

Somiedo is a truly beautiful place, and Auriz is a wonderful place to stay while visiting the area.

Idyllic location in the beautiful village of Pola de Somiedo in the national park.

I have been staying here in June 2013 as part of a larger group. The placeis quite remoteand cannot be easily reached by public transport, but a car will be essential, anywayif you want to visit the highlights of the scenic PN Somiedo.
 The owners are very friendly and forthcoming and invited us to have some local Sidra and food on our arrival. They speak a little Engish but you will perhaps be better off with Spanish.
The apartments are located in newly built regional style small houses and are equipped with everything that you need. A supermarket os close by, and the town centre with severalshops and restaurants is about 500 m walking distance. The breakfast was very good, much better than you would expect it if you are used to Spanish standards. I can recommend to book it with the apartments.  

This town is really a gem, and fortunately it is not yet overrun with tourists as e.g., the PN Picos de Europa in the North. I highly recommend this area for a relaxing holiday in the middle of a largely untouched natural environment, and Auriz will certainly make a good base camp to explore the area.
