Very welcoming, comfortable and friendly place to stay while exploring this beautiful part of Cantabria. Family run, there is always someone to help make your stay very enjoyable. I certainly hope to return in the future.

Great Place to Stay

We stay a week in suances in the Posada Marina. The Ladies who run the hotel are wonderful, and very friendly, even though their English is limited, we used an app on my tablet to communicate. I would recommend anyone to stay here if you are in the area. It's very clean and comfortable. We loved every minuet we spent in the area.

Brilliant stay

We spent a night in this Posada before driving to Santander for the ferry. Our GPS could not find No.15 and we had a bit of difficulty finding the hotel, possibly because we had tried to access it from the wrong direction. We later found an easier route. There was ample private parking in front of the hotel.. Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable and the hotel itself couldn't be faulted, but a barking dog outside kept us awake for a few hours. The breakfast was a standard Spanish breakfast of orange juice, toast, butter and jam. All in all it was very good value.

Friendly B & B

We wanted an overnight stay prior to catching the ferry back to the UK from Santander and had previously stayed in Santander, so wanted a change. This hotel was ideal; easy access to Santander, and well-signposted within Suances. It was also exceptionally good value at €35 for both of us, B&B. We were not disappointed. Our room was 'old-style' Spanish and very comfortable, quiet and warm. The breakfast was simple but filling; just right for us.

Suances is well worth a visit, even in early March when we were there. There are good walks onto nearby headlands and the views over the river from near the hotel are beautiful. Suances must be quite busy during the summer, though. Few tourist restaurants were open (good!) and so we trawled the available local café bars, but finally chose a chain pizza restaurant. This is not our normal choice but we were most impressed with the whole deep pan pizza at half price - we ate it all in one sitting to our shame! I cannot remember the name, but it is dominant near the town square, outside the touristy harbour and river area.

When next in Cantabria we shall seek out more Posadas as they seem very good value.

Comfortable and homely

I stayed with friends at Posada Marina for a weekend and we loved it. The owners are very nice, friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful and immaculate. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The breakfast is simple but very tasty. Free parking and Wi-Fi. In summary, great value for money. We strongly recommend it!
