The couple that runs it are really nice (if you speak spanish, not sure they speak english) + nice big stone house with more room then we needed. Nice fire with all the wood we wanted. Kitchen could of used a sharper knife, and little things like no pot-holders or kettle.

homey and warm getaway

Stayed 4 nights to go biking in this area. Tabernas is not the prettiest or most interesting place in Spain, but the desert area and some of the small villages around are nice; i.e you need a reason to be there. 
However if you have a reason, this is a great place to stay. People are very friendly and open, not much English, but the women uses Google Translator, so you can understand what is what.
WiFi worked well, TV streaming good (even with VPN switched on). 
Heating good and apartment warm in winter. I used the fire for which they had wood, free to use.
Coffee supplied for the machine they had in the kitchen and also some cold drinks in the fridge.

Their restaurant (in the Olive Oil factory) is probably the best in the area. This is must see and buy the Olive Oil.
The Wild West places are worth a visit. I went to the Solar Research center which was interesting (need to apply online in advance).

So if in the Tabernas area, stay here and be an Eco Warrior for a while.

Great place

Good appartement but there are motion activated ip cameras inside the apartment which means you can be watched without knowing. A severe breach of privacy and maybe unlawful. The rest of the apartment is wonderful but knowing that someone can see you via a camera is awful so DON'T GO HERE or at least make sure there are no cameras

This place is beautiful and immaculate. We had a 2 bedroom villa and it was spectacular. The pool is well maintained and cleaned every morning. The owners have a restaurant and make their own olive oil. We had one of our best meals at their restaurant. They are open for breakfast and lunch. You will not be disappointed. I would go back any day!! Also, it is very close to the little town of Tabernas which has grocery stores and a few restaurants. We also went to the Oasys parc with our children, it was a fun way to spend the day.

Hidden gem!

Next to the wellknow OliveOilMill "Los Albardinales" you find the ecofriendly apartments "casa rurales". Each one has a nice terrace and access to the natural swimming pool.
Only a short walk you can have breakfast or a fantastic home cooked lunch in the Oliveoil museum which is nice to visit and to taste the fantastic oliveoil "Oro del Desierto".
We enjoyed our trip very much and will for sure come back for another experience in the desert.
