Could not ask for a better hotel location in Tarragona, easy walk to all the historic areas.  We had a fun surprise when we found a castell ("human pyramids")  club practicing a few blocks away.  Many restaurants nearby.  Continental breakfast available.  There is a lift.  Room was clean, bed comfortable.  Our window was on to a side of the building and very quiet.  There is a car park under the plaza with a lift, right by hotel.  Reception staff helpful.

We stayed in room 402 for 12 nights. Our room looked out to the square, with a small balcony. 

The hotel is at one end of the square, with the cafe terrace out in front. It's the perfect location for the bars and restaurants in the old town. 
The staff were brilliant - pleasant and helpful. 
When you remember it's a 1 star hotel it really is hard to fault it. We'll be ban the next time
                                                                          Having said that - there are things to be aware of. There are events in the square - concerts etc - and you will hear them, even though the double glazing is good. The air con works well but can be a wee bit noisy at night.  



Super location, super staff, super family run hotel

We had a lovely 6 night stay at the hotel.  As always our room was spotlessly clean.  We love staying here as it is so central and there is always something to see from the balcony.  The rooms are basic but have everything you need.
The staff are very pleasant and David was particularly helpful and friendly and an asset to the hotel.  If you are dining at the hotel you must try the
Peppers stuffed with cod brandy starter, they are absolutely delicious!  
We will be back.

Our Favourite place to stay.

The hotel is in a superb location! With its balcony that overlooks the plaza itself, it was well within walking distance of all the places we wanted to visit. We had lunched there at Christmas 2022 so it was the obvious place for us to stay when we returned in June 2023.

There is a car park underneath the hotel (accessible from the plaza entrance) with day rates available, so we didn't have to drag our suitcases very far - great considering its a pedestrianised area.

The tall blonde lady and the young dark-haired gentleman who were the two mainly working during our stay were both very attentive, friendly and helpful. 
They learned our preferences extremely quickly - little things like making our bed up with the extra quilt I'd pulled from a cupboard, and having a cafe con leche, a mint tea and an ashtray ready when we sat on their terrace each morning and afternoon, and they made us feel very welcome.

They were more than happy to discuss various wines with me after I'd had a glass of something that really wasn't to my taste.

The food/drink prices were excellent despite being in a city centre too.

The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Little touches were done to make us feel very comfortable.

Despite the noise from the bars and restaurants on the plaza, you couldn't hear it once the balcony doors were closed - an added bonus we weren't expecting.

We would very VERY happily recommend this hotel to others and will be using it again ourselves each time we return to this beautiful city (likely once or twice per year).

The perfect place to stay in the Historic Quarter

We visited the cafe for this hotel as a pit stop as it was an extremely hot day. They had outdoor seating. We had a pushchair and it was shady and it looked nice on the outside. However looks are deceiving. We felt discriminated as we had a baby in a pushchair and actually the staff came across rather racist. Seeing as Tarragona is such a beautiful place this cafe put the place to shame. Very disappointed. The waitress was ok but not very helpful. When asking if they had baby changing facilities the lady behind the counter started laughing at me and said something to the other waiter in Spanish and they both laughed. I felt so humiliated simply for asking for somewhere to change my babys nappy. She then said No shrugged her shoulders. When I then asked if they knew anywhere else I could change the nappy she laughed again and said "not my problem" . Service was disgusting. I ended up changing baby in the pushchair in the middle of the street. I definitely WILL NOT be visiting again and do not recommend anyone of ethnic minorities or anyone with young children to visit this place.. its a disgrace.

Rude, unhelpful, not for babies/children and somewhat racist

What a delightful hotel overlooking a buzzing square in the Old Town. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful and check in was fast. There were bars and restaurants close by, and many historical sites a few minutes walk away. 

Charming place to stay

What a perfect spot to explore all that Tarragona has to offer!  Parking is right below the plaza (with a discount for hotel guests). Rooms are on the small side but the views are fantastic. Lots of dining options right at our doorstep, and some at the hotel itself. Plenty of great sites within an easy walk. We'd certainly stay here again. 

Perfect location to explore Tarragona 

In terms of location, you can not find a more centralized place in Tarragona. In terms of other amenities, there are probably better. The service is sub-par. The people at the desk were dismissive and not really friendly at all. If you ask for anything beyond basic needs they will get annoyed with you. The rooms are small but not tiny. The location on the main Plaza can not be beat bu again, that is pretty much the only plus of this hotel.

Great Location!

I write a ton of reviews here and most places I review I give good reviews.  I rarely give a poor rating.  I hope that this place isn't on its last legs due to Covid and that I am kicking it when it's down but honestly I think this place might have been bad even pre-Covid.  The room was not very clean.  The bed cover had a stain on it - you could see it had been washed but the stain hadn't come out but, they used the bed cover anyway.  The sheets had a blood stain on them as well.  The second night we were there the air conditioner started dripping water on the floor at 3 AM.  My husband called the main desk and they hung up on him.  I get it.  It was 3 AM.  Not much they could do but, just saying they would have a tech come up as soon as possible in the morning would have been nice.  I put a few towels under the area and tried to go back to sleep..... drip, drip, drip.  The only "amenity" was

Hate to kick a place if they're down but....

The hotel is in a great location, on a lovely square and close to everything. 
As I was travelling by myself the room was big enough, clean and with a comfortable bed. 
I didn't find the staff particularly welcoming or friendly.
A couple of small things to me would have made a big difference: no hand towel or bath mat and no soap. 
I have noticed that I am not the only one who mentioned this and I really believe that it is important for the hotel to read reviews and take the suggestions on board. 
It doesn't cost anything but it shows willingness to listen and to care about your clients.
