Hi all, just back today, my wife and I, mid storm after a fantastic 2 weeks at the ficus hotel Lanzarote. First impressions on arriving to a half empty (change day) no noise was OMG what have we done. But this soon changed into wow what a great place. We were so lucky with the weather 1st week roasting like 25 blue skys, then 2nd week mix of usual sun, cloud, wind and touch of rain for 30 mins. Lots of chatty guests many retired, 15 mins walk to main Teguise lively strip, other bars with sports, shops a stones through, now the Hotel 
Clean, rooms tidied 5 times a week including sheets, hotel kept tidy, except in the wind when it is impossible. Kitchen spot on, tables, service and food (on a weekly daily rota  so if staying more than week you know when to go out for meals) staff friendly polite and very hard working. Animation team Rafa and William fab, hard to get many to join in, but they improvise and always smile. Evening is quizzes and karaoke which was fun. This starts at 21:00 so time to have evening stroll. Finally we stayed 2 weeks, probably 11 nights would have been ample as missed our daughters. Due to refurb April time to improve pool bar and add more toilets, but all in all fantastic place. Enjoy Andy x

Beat expectations

So We Booked this very late and got a Great Deal from TUI, landed on our feet as we stayed in the Premium apartments which are very nice. The Food was Plentiful and good choice and by the looks of the size of some people staying you can eat as much as you can and they probably did lol. Anyone who didn’t like the food has to be either super fussy or an idiot. The staff were helpful and the entertainment at night was fairly good. It’s a 15 minute walk to the Beach which is great for us and a nice stroll. Big thank you to Alex on Reception who was most helpful and to summarise I’d definitely recommend this place and will hopefully stay there again

Wonderful Stay

Chose this hotel as its adults only in winter, it is a 5 minutes  walk to the nearest shops and bars. Staff were nice and friendly and we had lovely tui reps most days breda and chloe who were both nice and very helpful. Food was okay we could always find something to eat . Didn't look like it would be good for vegetarians though. The wine was awful but the rest of the drinks were okay. Plenty of sunbeds at all times of the day though people insisted on putting their towels on beds early morning though this was against the hotels rules. Shame they don't remove them like they say they will. Rooms clean with comfortable beds. Nice walk in shower. TV had English channels which is good on rainy days. Entertainment staff tried their best but we did enjoy the quiz and karaoke nights. Good value hotel and would stay again in winter months when it's adults only

Staying at the Ficus hotel now, what a lovely little hotel is, lovely food good drinks, entertainment not the best but the two entertainment hosts are really friendly and work hard, it has a good sized pool and plenty of sunbeds. It's about a 5 minute walk to the nearest shops and bars and the town centre and beach is about a 15 minute walk, for those with walking difficulties a taxi is about €3

Lovely little hotel 

Arrived at the Ficus with a little trepidation due to the mixed reviews. 

On arrival the staff were lovely at check in and we were in the premier side. 

The room was amazing and spacious. Spotlessly clean bedding and rooms.  As mentioned in other reviews there is a microwave, fridge with freezer section, kettle and hotplate but the only things you have to use is 2 wine glasses? Ended up buying 2 mugs from the local shops which were cheap enough. Note for the hotel the room was only missing a coat hook in the living area. A small thing but would be really useful.

The pool area was clear and really relaxing. Abundance of spare sun beds at all times of the day so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towels out like the main pool area. ( these beds were reserved from 7am in the morning when it was still dark!)

The small pool bar was stocked with wine, fizz. Lager and spirits. The staff were amazing and so polite and attentive. They have added ice creams to the bar area also following previous feedback which were lovely. Also great for mudslide cocktails! The relaxation room with the books and games would have benefitted from a self  service coffee or juice/water machine.

The restaurant staff worked really hard. However the set up of the restaurant reminded me of a school canteen. Also none of the food were under hot light or on hot plates so everything was at best luke warm. There was only one microwave and not what you want to be doing to food on holiday. To be honest we eat out 4 times out of 7 in the evenings. 

The lager, spirits and cava were ok. The wine was horrendous as was the cocktail machine.

The entertainment also lets the hotel down. The evening bar is like an old working man’s club and really warm. The two people doing the entertainment had their favourite guests and ignored others. I cannot comment on what they were like during the day.

The hotel was a 10 minute walk to the beach or 15 minutes to the main square area which we enjoyed walking. We visited some amazing restaurants which were amazing. The local spa is a few minutes walk from the hotel.

In conclusion we would definitely recommend the premium area. Rooms immaculate and so relaxing by the pool and around the bar area. The resort was lovely and would definitely recommend it. 

However the rest of the hotel needs some attention in the main bar and restaurant areas to make this hotel amazing. It has the potential to.

Lovely quiet location. Just the food/drink and entertainment lets it down.

We had a fantastic family holiday. The apartments are spacious and very clean with a lovely large balcony. The food was outstanding. We had paid a lot more for holidays and not had this quality. The whole complex was spotless.  Special mention to both the entertainment team who were brilliant. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.  Thanks for a great holiday.

Fantastic family holiday!
Lovely and clean apartments with comfy beds, great food with a different theme every night and very nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds.  The staff here are all very helpful and friendly and work extremely hard, I have to give a special thanks to ‘William’, who truly made our holiday! - Part of the animation team he worked exceptionally hard to make sure we joined in, made friends and have a great time, he is truly passionate about his job so thank you! Love Paul, Louise, kaylee, Sam, lily and mikey xxx

Exceeded our expectations!

We stayed at the Ficus apartments and cannot fault it. The food was really good, we have stayed at lots of all inclusives and the Ficus was the best. There was a great variety of food on offer and it was hot. The staff were very friendly and efficient.  Our room was lovely and really clean. The pool and surroundings were kept tidy and clean. A short walk to the beach and shops and bus stop.

Great hotel

Honestly loved it here! We had the best week away at Los Ficus and cannot find a fault. The staff were friendly, the food was so good and varied with a different theme every night, the room was cleaned and cleaned 5 times during our 7 day stay to a high standard. The pool area was relaxing with an amazing pool side bar. The entertainment was lovely, the team really pulled out all of the stops to make sure everyone was having a lovely time away. 10|10 would recommend this place to anyone wanting a lovely week away! Only a short walk to shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. Definitely will be coming back x

Amazing!

We've just got home from a fab stay here. We had a ground floor apartment on block four.  It was clean amd spacious, with a great view of the pool. Food - great variety and you can make a meal, but found some of the themed nights a bit poor. English (Sunday) we walked in and walked back out. We went to eat at a lovely Chinese I'm the square. Some restaurant staff, were like they didn't want to be there, no smiles, even when we were polite and thanked them for clearing our plates. It got a bit annoying as we'd put our asthma mouthful in and they'd swoop, and take your plate before chewing the last mouthful. This got on our nerves in the end as it made us feel rushed. It was busy and often we had to wait to be seated. The chef doing the cooking at lunch was happy and smile, a credit to the hotel. The reason I've still given 5 on my review is that although it wasn't the greatest at times, at meal tines, it's been alot better than some higher star rated places we've been and are aware it's hard to get it right for everyone. The pool area was lovely, William is a credit, getting everyone to join in with games, young and old. Drinks are a bit hit/miss. We aren't big drinkers but what we do drink, wasn't the greatest but again no biggie. Weather was mixed, people moaning and getting stupidly drunk.. but again, we already know the canaries have mixed weather, but we didn't come for that, the calima was an experience but produced some amazing sunsets. The two resident cats stole my heart. Please feed them if you can. Overall a fab stay. Thank you.
